Attending were Ms. Phi Thu Huong - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department of the VGCL; Major General Ngo Hoai Thu - Deputy Director of the Department of Political Work (X03), Ministry of Public Security; Senior Lieutenant Colonel Cong Thanh Thao - Head of the Trade Union of the People's Police (CAND) along with representatives of leaders of functional units under the Ministry of Public Security and a large number of union members and workers in the CAND Trade Union.
In 2025, the People's Police Trade Union closely followed the direction of the Party Committee of the Central Public Security, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, and the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in activities to care for union members and workers. The People's Police Trade Union has proactively, creatively, and synchronously implemented many practical programs, towards the grassroots level.
Accordingly, nearly 25,000 turns of union members and workers in the People's Public Security Forces have been visited and supported by trade union levels. Over 5,000 turns of union members in difficult circumstances have been regularly supported; 1,108 union members and workers have been supported with train and bus tickets to return home for Tet.
On January 24, the program "Tet Reunion - Trade Union Tet Market" was organized with the motto "All trade union members and workers in the People's Public Security Forces have Tet". The program has 36 Trade Union Tet Market booths, attracting more than 5,000 union members and workers to participate in shopping for goods. Over 3,000 discount codes were issued to union members in difficult circumstances and typical union members, with a total value of more than 300 million VND; 2,460 Tet gifts supported by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, handed directly to CAND union members in difficult circumstances, with a total value of nearly 1.2 billion VND.
Speaking at the program, Major General Ngo Hoai Thu said: "Over the past year, the People's Police Trade Union has strongly innovated, directing all activities to the grassroots level to practically care for union members, especially those in difficult circumstances. Proactively listening and coordinating to ensure jobs and stable incomes has created a strong bond between workers and trade union organizations and units, helping union members feel secure in their work and contributions.
At the program, Ms. Phi Thu Huong acknowledged and praised the activities of caring for union members and workers that the People's Police Trade Union achieved in 2025.
To ensure that the "Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" and "Trade Union Tet Market" programs continue to be effective, I propose that the Party committees, police units, and localities pay more attention and create more favorable conditions for the People's Police Trade Union levels to operate effectively and efficiently for the benefit of trade union members and workers," Ms. Huong said.
Also at the program, 200 union members and workers in difficult circumstances were given Tet gifts. On this occasion, the People's Police Trade Union will give a total of 2,497 Tet gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
