200 official delegates attend the 7th Congress of the People's Public Security Trade Union, term 2025-2030

Comrades who were former leaders of the Department of Political Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security; representatives of departments of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor... and 200 official delegates, representing nearly 25,000 union members in the People's Public Security Trade Union.

Caring for hundreds of thousands of union members

Reporting at the Congress, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Manh Tuong, Deputy Head of the People's Public Security Trade Union, said that the People's Public Security Trade Union currently has 95 grassroots trade unions, 11 provincial and municipal police trade unions, and corporations with 24,970 union members. Of which, female workers are 11,559 people, accounting for 46.2%.

In the 2023-2025 period, the People's Public Security Trade Union will implement the resolution of the 6th People's Public Security Trade Union Congress in the context of intertwined advantages and difficulties: The Vietnam General Trade Union Organization and the Trade Union Organization in the People's Public Security in particular will also be consolidated, reorganized, operated and developed in the direction of concentrating in the business sector and public service units; the impact of unprecedented harsh natural disasters, along with the impacts of the fourth industrial revolution...

The People's Public Security Trade Union has organized 25 dialogues and 81 social supervision and criticism sessions according to Decision 217 of the Politburo, focusing on salary policy, social insurance, training, planning, rewards, working conditions and labor safety... thereby, contributing to removing many practical obstacles. Law dissemination activities, direct consultation, and resolution of union members' recommendations have received attention; more than 1,500 law dissemination sessions have been organized; consultations have been conducted to resolve hundreds of union members' recommendations.

The "Union Shelter" program continues to be a bright spot in humanity, solving essential housing needs; in 3 years, 51 houses have been repaired and 42 new houses have been built with a total support budget of more than 6 billion VND.

Regarding Tet care, the total number of union members visited and given gifts is about 103,725, with a total cost of more than 117.254 billion VND; supporting 2,138 union members with difficult circumstances to travel by train and bus to their hometowns to celebrate Tet and return to their work units...

During the term, 1,330 grassroots trade unions organized "Tet Sum Vay" activities, attracting more than 46,000 union members to participate; organized visits and New Year gifts for nearly 2,000 union members who are directly performing their duties and production workers at the facility.

Create all conditions for trade unions to contribute more

Speaking at the Congress, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security affirmed that under the comprehensive and direct leadership and direction of the Central Public Security Party Committee, the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the People's Public Security Trade Union has gathered a large number of cadres, soldiers, workers, and laborers, gradually affirming the role, position and importance of the trade union organization, making important contributions to building the People's Public Security force and the Vietnam Trade Union organization.

In the past time, the People's Public Security Trade Union has urgently completed the project to reorganize to ensure compliance with procedures and uninterrupted operations. Including receiving nearly 15,000 union members who are employees of Mobifone Corporation and departments, ministries and branches.

The digital transformation and modernization of the People's Public Security Trade Union has resulted in many new knowledge, good models, creative jobs, attracting the spread and bringing practical and outstanding results.

In addition to the achieved results, Senior General Tran Quoc To suggested a number of additional contents: Continue to raise a deeper awareness of the position and role of the People's Public Security Trade Union in the new situation; promote the achievements in the past term, determined to successfully implement the Resolution of the Congress, in which to note a number of new policies, new motto of the Party, State, Ministry of Public Security and Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; the emulation movement of trade unions must be linked with assigned political tasks; continue to promote the role of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers; create the highest favorable conditions for trade unions at all levels to develop at the same level as their tasks, and contribute more to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in the new era of development.

Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor said that in the past term, the People's Public Security Trade Union has focused on performing well the function of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers.

In the context of the People's Public Security Trade Union and Trade Union organizations at all levels implementing the arrangement and consolidation of the organizational apparatus, the end of trade union activities in agencies and units receiving 100% of State budget salaries requires the Trade Union organization to strongly innovate its methods of operation, enhance its role as a representative, caretaker, and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers.
