Joy after long years of waiting

Ms. H's joy is also the common mood of hundreds of workers who used to work at Minh Hoang 2 Garment Co., Ltd. when more than 10.5 billion VND of social insurance debt and late payment interest of the enterprise were recovered and put into the account of the judgment enforcement agency.
This is the result after a long journey of many years and at times falling into a situation where it is very difficult to find a solution. Because the situation of social insurance debt at Minh Hoang 2 Garment Co., Ltd. appeared in 2016.
In the following years, the enterprise has been inspected and fined many times by functional agencies, requesting remediation, but the debt continues to be prolonged. By the end of March 2025, when the enterprise stopped operating, the amount of late social insurance contributions had exceeded 10.3 billion VND.
A turning point appeared after Da Nang and Quang Nam merged. The Da Nang City Trade Union organization just received the case and began reviewing the entire process, working with workers, completing dossiers and finding handling directions.
Instead of continuing to wait for businesses to fix themselves after inspections and penalties as before, the Da Nang Trade Union guides and supports workers to prepare legal procedures, complete lawsuit dossiers and submit them to the Court.
By the time more than 10.5 billion VND was recovered, the case had not yet entered the trial process. However, the completion and inclusion of the dossier into a specific legal process has created more grounds for functional agencies to join in.
Trade union persistently seeks solutions
Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Oanh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, Deputy Head of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks, who directly handled this case, said that this case is different from many previous disputes, typically at Hoa Khanh Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company.
The case at Minh Hoang 2 Garment Co., Ltd., workers claimed their rights without having to go to court to try. The reason is that after the Trade Union completed the lawsuit file and submitted it to the Court, the case received the coordination of the People's Court of Region 10, the People's Procuracy of Region 10, the Department of Home Affairs, local authorities and related agencies to jointly remove obstacles.
Furthermore, the role of the Trade Union organization in this process does not only stop at guiding workers to make applications, complete procedures, and regularly dialogue with workers to resolve grievances and handle hot spots, but the Trade Union is also the focal point to closely monitor cases, connect agencies, persistently and proactively propose solutions and promote the process of handling cases when the rights of hundreds of workers have been "suspended" for too long.
Mr. Le Van Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City Labor Federation - affirmed: "This is a labor dispute related to social insurance that the Trade Union has guided and supported workers as well as participated in resolving, claiming a very large amount of money compared to the cases that have occurred in the city to date.
According to Mr. Dai, this result brings great joy to the Trade Union organization because the rights that have been violated for a long time by hundreds of workers at Minh Hoang 2 Garment Co., Ltd. are gradually being restored, thereby basically solving the pressing issue of workers in the past nearly 3 years.
This is also the effort, persistence and flexibility in participating in resolving labor disputes of the Da Nang City Trade Union when an incident has been deadlocked for a long time. We hope union members and workers always trust and cooperate with the Trade Union organization in the journey to protect workers" - Mr. Dai said.
