According to the Can Tho City Labor Federation, occupational safety and health plays not only a key role in protecting the health and lives of workers but also contributes to improving production efficiency. A safe and professional working environment will help attract and retain skilled workers, creating a sustainable competitive advantage for businesses.
Recognizing the importance of occupational safety and health, Can Tho City Trade Unions at all levels have participated in supervising the implementation of legal regulations on occupational safety and health at enterprises, ensuring that workers can work in a safe and standard environment.
Can Tho City Labor Federation also organizes training courses on occupational safety and health knowledge and skills to raise awareness of self-defense for workers. Trade unions at all levels, agencies, units and enterprises in the area have actively responded to the Month of Action on occupational safety and health with many information and communication activities with more than 18,500 contacts.
The Hau Giang Provincial Federation of Labor also believes that occupational safety and health plays an important role not only for workers and employers but also affects the overall development of the economy and the whole society. Accordingly, the provincial Trade Union at all levels has actively participated in implementing the work of ensuring occupational safety and health in many practical and effective ways.
Right from the beginning of 2025, the Standing Committee of the Labor Federation of Hau Giang province has built a plan to coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Health and the inter -branch branches to organize the inspection and supervision of OSH work at high -risk enterprises. At the same time, the unit deployed to guide the response to the Action Month on OSH in 2025 to trade unions at all levels in the area.
Continue to accompany and participate in supervision
In order to promote the achieved results, in the coming time, the Hau Giang Provincial Federation of Labor will direct all levels of Trade Unions to proactively strengthen coordination with functional agencies and authorities at the same level to organize inspection and supervision activities on the implementation of occupational safety and health regulations and processes in agencies, units, enterprises and workshops according to regulations.
Inspection and supervision work focuses on a number of sectors, occupations, and fields with high risks of occupational accidents and diseases; the use and inspection of machinery, equipment, and materials with strict requirements on occupational safety; measuring the working environment; training on occupational safety and health; periodic health check-ups for workers...
In Can Tho, the City Labor Federation plans to coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs to organize a Launching Ceremony in response to the Month of Action on occupational safety and health and Workers' Month in 2025.
The ceremony is expected to integrate many activities such as giving gifts to workers in difficult circumstances; sports festivals; blood donation; training and dissemination of labor safety laws, coordinating inspection and examination of labor safety laws at enterprises in the area; Coordinating periodic inspection and supervision of the implementation of labor safety regulations in units, especially in high-risk industries.
In particular, the Can Tho City Labor Union plans to commend and reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in occupational safety and health. All of these activities aim to raise awareness, change behavior and ensure safety for workers, contributing to building a culture of labor safety at the workplace.
During Workers' Month 2025, the Can Tho City Labor Federation and Hau Giang Province both plan to organize the program "Creative workers, confidently entering the new era". In addition to activities to propagate and mobilize union members and workers to study, improve their skills, cultivate courage and innovate working style, trade unions at all levels will organize the "Creative Labor Festival 2025" along with competitions on ideas, initiatives and technical solutions to innovate production processes.
