As of June 2025, the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union (DMVN) directly manages: 117 grassroots trade unions across the country including: 12 grassroots trade unions are state-owned enterprises, 83 enterprises are joint stock companies, 11 limited liability companies, 3 foreign-invested joint ventures and 8 grassroots trade unions under the holding company with a total of 110,089 employees. Of which, employees at enterprises account for 90% of the total number of employees in the industry (female ratio over 70%).

In the first 6 months of 2025 alone, trade unions at all levels in the system coordinated with professionals to strive to contribute to spreading solidarity, cohesion and an exciting atmosphere in the difficult production and business conditions.

Specifically, the targets assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) in the first 6 months of the year were mostly achieved and exceeded. The target of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions after many years has changed positively, effectively increasing by 818 union members. Coordinate with the employer to have many solutions to maintain employment, preserve the team and improve the lives of employees. The income of employees is maintained and higher than the average of the entire textile and garment industry (10.59 million VND/person/month).

Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, comrade Pham Thi Thanh Tam - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - said: Based on the 3 breakthroughs and 5 key programs set out in the Resolution of the 6th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for the 2023-2028 term, with the goal of "Focusing on performing the task of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers; promoting the effectiveness of emulation movements; building and fostering textile culture; improving the quality of the team, adaptive capacity; meeting the development requirements of the industry and trade union organizations in the new period", from now until the end of 2025 and 2026 the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor needs to focus on performing well the following key tasks:

One is: Implement the work of streamlining the organizational apparatus according to the policies and instructions of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to ensure efficiency and efficiency.

Two is: Deploying activities to welcome Party Congresses at all levels towards the 13th National Party Congress of the Party. Coordinate with DMVN Group to organize the Patriotic Emulation Congress for the period 2025-2030; organize the Industry-level Skilled Workers Competition in 2025.

Three is: Continue to organize training courses, to foster knowledge, focus on solving problems at the workplace... for union officials. Equip union members and employees with knowledge, skills and adaptive capacity to meet the requirements of digital transformation and greening of the textile and garment industry.

Fourth: Support investment in construction and effective operation of cultural and sports activities for employees at the facility.
