On the days of harvest season, Bat Do bamboo hills in Hung Khanh commune, Lao Cai province become bustling. From early morning, people go to the fields to harvest bamboo shoots, bundle them and transport them to purchasing points.
Mr. Hoang Van Lam's family, a long-time bamboo shoot grower, said that in the past, bamboo shoot growing was mainly spontaneous, and the output depended on traders, so prices were often unstable.
The turning point came when Yamazaki Vietnam Co., Ltd. invested in Bat Do bamboo shoot processing plant in Hung Khanh Industrial Cluster about 5 years ago. Initially, many people were skeptical because some projects had been surveyed and then stopped before, causing incomplete trust.

However, with the determination of the enterprise and the support of the grassroots trade union, the factory gradually completed and went into operation. In just a short time, the first batches of salted bamboo shoots were exported to foreign markets.
From here, a linkage chain gradually forms: bamboo shoot farmers - purchasing and processing enterprises - direct production workers - products are exported to the international market.
In the past 5 years, Yamazaki Vietnam Co., Ltd. has purchased about 12,000 tons of Bat Do bamboo shoots from people to serve export processing. In 2025 alone, the purchase output reached more than 3,100 tons.
Exported bamboo shoot batches not only bring economic value but also contribute to bringing the Bat Do bamboo shoot brand of Lao Cai to the international market.

To facilitate the consumption of agricultural products, the enterprise has signed contracts with 14 purchasing points in key bamboo shoot growing areas. Thanks to this system, people can sell bamboo shoots right in the locality, reduce transportation costs and limit price pressure.
Fresh bamboo shoots after harvest are quality checked, sorted at the purchasing point and then transported to the factory on the same day to ensure freshness and processing standards.
Not only creating output for agricultural products, Yamazaki Vietnam Co., Ltd.'s factory also creates jobs for more than 70 workers, mostly ethnic minorities.

Mr. Vi Viet Trung - Chairman of the Trade Union of Tran Yen commune shared: "For many rural workers, especially ethnic minority women, having a stable job right in their hometown is very meaningful. They can both work and take care of their families without having to leave their hometown to work far away.
In the production process, the trade union organization always accompanies workers, protects the legitimate rights of union members, and at the same time launches many labor production emulation movements, contributing to improving productivity and product quality.
