On March 16, Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation informed that the unit had just coordinated with leaders of Tan Phu Co., Ltd., Tran Yen Commune Trade Union and local authorities to organize the handover of funds to support the construction of "Trade Union Shelter" houses for union member Sung A Chau, a grassroots union member of Tan Phu Co., Ltd.
Mr. Sung A Chau has worked for 13 years at Tan Phu Co., Ltd. and is the main breadwinner of the family. His wife does not have a stable job, and two young children are of school age.
The average income of the whole family is only about 1.5 million VND/person/month. For many years, his family has had to live in a temporary house that has deteriorated, posing many unsafe risks, especially during the rainy and storm season.
Faced with that situation, trade union levels surveyed the reality and decided to support his family to build a new house.
The level 4 house is built with an area of nearly 100m2, solid structure, meeting the living needs of the family. The total construction cost is nearly 320 million VND, of which the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation supported 50 million VND from the Trade Union Social Fund; 60 million VND contributed by union members and workers of Tan Phu Co., Ltd.; the rest is supported by family, relatives and friends.

Mr. Vu Cao Minh - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation said that the "Trade Union Shelter" program is a deeply humane activity, showing the concern of the Trade Union organization for union members and workers in difficult housing circumstances.
Through the program, trade union levels wish to help union members stabilize their lives, feel secure in working, and be attached to businesses for a long time.
In emotion, Mr. Sung A Chau shared: "My family is very grateful to the trade union levels, company leaders and colleagues for their concern and help in getting a new house. This is a great motivation for me to continue to try to work, take care of my family and overcome difficulties.
