Dong Nai Trade Union helps 31 workers win lawsuits in Court

The Legal Consulting Center (Dong Nai City Labor Federation) in the first 6 months of 2026 has protected and helped 31 union members and workers win lawsuits in court and claim their rights.

The trade union is supporting about 100 workers whose insurance benefits are affected.

On July 3, the Legal Consulting Center (LĐLĐ TP Dong Nai) said that it is supporting about 100 workers at B.T Ceramic Tile Co., Ltd. in Nhon Trach 1 Industrial Park, Nhon Trach ward, Dong Nai city, suing the People's Court of Region 2 - Dong Nai, requesting the Court to resolve and force the company to pay insurance for employees for the remaining time.

Mr. L.H.B (36 years old, residing in Ca Mau province) said that from March 2013, he was recruited to work at the company. During his time working for the company, the company deducted his salary every month to participate in social insurance according to regulations. By October 2024, the company had made a decision to terminate the contract for Mr. B to quit his job.

After quitting his job at the company, Mr. B contacted the company to request the company to pay social insurance checkpoints, but the company did not resolve it. Regarding Mr. B's social insurance participation period from November 2023 to September 2024, the company has not paid social insurance for Mr. B according to the provisions of law.

Realizing that the monthly deduction of salary to participate in social insurance but not paying to the social insurance agency is not in accordance with the law, Mr. B asked the Legal Consulting Center (Dong Nai City Labor Federation) to file a lawsuit asking the Court to resolve it.

Mr. B is one of about 100 workers at the above-mentioned company who are crying for help, asking the Legal Consulting Center (Dong Nai City Labor Federation) for legal support.

Sharing with reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, a labor law expert in Dong Nai City said that when businesses do not pay social insurance for employees, it will lead to all social insurance related regimes of employees not being resolved. Legal advice and support for 1,338 workers

On July 2nd, Dong Nai City Labor Federation organized the 2nd Conference of the Executive Committee of Dong Nai City Labor Federation, term 2025 - 2030.

At the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet - Vice President of Dong Nai City Labor Federation - said that in the first 6 months of 2026, the Legal Consulting Center (Dong Nai City Labor Federation) provided legal advice and support to 1,338 workers. In which, direct counseling at the Center for 560 workers; telephone counseling 342 times; social media counseling 436 times with counseling contents on salaries, labor contracts, social insurance regimes, and occupational accidents. Supported drafting applications for 192 workers (42 mediation, 44 complaints, 78 lawsuits, 28 requests).

Regarding support work at the Court, the Dong Nai Trade Union authorized 64 employees at all levels of the Court to participate in proceedings. Representatives participating in proceedings for 31 employees with the result that all 31 employees won the lawsuit. Among them, in 3 cases, employees received more than 44 million VND, and in 28 cases, the Court forced the company to pay social insurance for employees.

In addition to directly supporting employees in court, the Trade Union Legal Consulting Center continues to implement solutions to protect employees' rights such as: Promoting propaganda and free legal advice for employees. In the first 6 months of 2026, the Legal Consulting Center (Dong Nai City Labor Federation) also trained 1 class on social insurance law for 100 grassroots trade union officials.
