Responding to Workers' Month 2026, on May 29, the grassroots Trade Union of My Phong Leather Shoe Co., Ltd. (Tap Ngai commune, Vinh Long province) organized a ceremony to admit 300 new union members to the Vietnam Trade Union organization.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam - Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of My Phong Leather Shoe Co., Ltd. said that after a period of propaganda, mobilization and learning about the Vietnam Trade Union organization, 300 workers voluntarily applied to join the trade union organization.
According to Mr. Nam, the admission of new union members not only contributes to increasing the rate of workers joining the trade union organization, but also helps workers have more support in the working process, and are cared for and protected in their legitimate and lawful rights and interests.
To date, the grassroots Trade Union of My Phong Leather Shoe Co., Ltd. has a total of 4,768 trade union members. This is the result of the companionship and trust of employees in the trade union organization in the past time.
Wishing new union members to continue to strive to work and produce, well comply with business regulations, and actively participate in movements launched by the trade union," Mr. Nam said.
At the ceremony, Mr. Truong Thanh Dung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation - congratulated 300 workers who officially joined the ranks of the Vietnam Trade Union.
Mr. Dung also shared with union members and workers about the role and responsibility of trade union organizations in representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers at enterprises.
At the same time, he added some practical meanings when joining the trade union such as being supported when encountering difficulties, participating in welfare activities, being consulted on labor law and accompanying in the working process.
