At the conference, many opinions were raised related to transport infrastructure, working environment, labor rights and policies to support workers in difficult circumstances. Many workers hope that functional sectors will soon remove inadequacies that directly affect life and jobs.
Mr. Le Thanh Hai (FAS Co., Ltd.) reflected on the situation of trading encroaching on roads and sidewalks on routes to Giao Long Industrial Park, causing congestion and unsafety for workers.
Answering the petition, the Department of Construction said that the roads leading to Giao Long Industrial Park are not under the management of the unit; the handling of encroachment is the responsibility of the locality and the route management unit.
The Department requested the Giao Long Commune People's Committee to coordinate with the Police to strengthen inspection and handle violations to ensure traffic order and safety. Regarding infrastructure, a part of the road has been repaired in 2024, and the remaining part continues to be maintained. The drainage system in front of the industrial park gate has been supplemented with interconnected culverts, and is no longer flooded.
Ms. Vo Thuy Kieu - a worker at Ty Bach Co., Ltd. - expressed concern about the fact that low-income workers still have difficulty accessing social housing because most of the projects are concentrated in urban areas. Answering this content, a representative of the Vinh Long Provincial Branch of the Social Policy Bank said that the unit is implementing a housing loan program under Decree 100/2024/ND-CP to support people to buy, rent, buy, build or repair social housing.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman Nguyen Thi Be Muoi said that provincial leaders always understand the difficulties of workers in terms of jobs, income, housing, living expenses, travel conditions and social security issues in daily life. Provincial leaders affirmed that economic development must go hand in hand with caring for the lives of workers, building a safe, stable, and humane working environment; and at the same time continue to listen to and promptly resolve legitimate recommendations, not allowing the voices of workers to fall into silence.
On this occasion, provincial leaders and Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation presented 235 gifts to union members who suffered labor accidents, workers in difficult circumstances and supported 3 houses of great solidarity for workers in housing difficulties.
