Mr. Do Van Hanh - Chairman of the grassroots trade union of Hoya Lens Vietnam Co., Ltd. - Quang Ngai branch - said that trade union officials always play the role of "bridge" between workers and the Board of Directors. Through dialogue and negotiation, the unit has signed many clauses that are more beneficial to employees than legal regulations, such as 2-day Saturday leave per month or higher meal allowance between meals.
In addition to the grassroots Trade Union of Hoya Lens Vietnam Co., Ltd. - Quang Ngai branch, the Executive Committee of the grassroots Trade Union of HD Hyundai Eco Vina Co., Ltd. has gone through many negotiations with the company to sign collective labor agreements with many clauses that are more beneficial to employees. Over 15 years, with 6 negotiations and signings, the current collective labor agreement has more beneficial content than the original version signed in 2011.
The working hours are 42 hours and 25 minutes/week (the law stipulates 48 hours/week). Workers working overtime on Saturdays are entitled to 200% salary, equivalent to the weekend (Sunday). Married workers are entitled to 5 days off with full salary...
Workers are 100% free of lunch, dinner, and late-night meal costs when working in the main shift or overtime; and are also supported 70% of the costs for other meals such as breakfast and dinner (current meal price is about 34,000 VND/portion).
155 labor agreements signed
Thanks to the Labor Federation strengthening direction and guidance for upper-level trade unions directly at the grassroots level to accompany in the negotiation and signing process, as of the beginning of 2026, the whole province had 155 collective labor agreements signed.
In which, state-owned enterprises have 19 copies, foreign-invested enterprises have 32 copies, joint-stock companies and limited liability companies have 104 copies. The quality of agreements is increasingly improved, many contents are more beneficial to workers such as salary increases, bonuses, increased midday meal allowances, gasoline support...
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Trang - Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial Labor Federation, the signing of collective labor agreements brings dual benefits to both workers and employers, contributing to building harmonious labor relations and demonstrating the responsibility of enterprises.
To have progressive agreements, trade union officials not only need to understand the law but also need to be sensitive and skillful in negotiating with businesses... thereby helping workers enjoy better policies. In the coming time, the Provincial Labor Federation will continue to direct trade union levels to promote propaganda, raise awareness about the role and meaning of collective bargaining and collective labor agreements.
