Maintaining the bus to take union members home for Tet
The Trade Union of Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd. has nearly 5,000 workers, of which a large part are migrant workers. For 19 years, the company's trade union has maintained organizing bus trips to take workers from distant provinces home for Tet.
According to the plan, this year, the bus trips will be organized at 6:00 AM on February 14, 2026 (ie December 27th of the lunar calendar) at Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Japan Industrial Park - Hai Phong), taking workers back to their hometowns in Bac Giang (Bac Ninh), Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh.
Employees who wish to return to their hometown for Tet register for buses to return to their hometown and can register for both parents, spouse, and children to travel with. The company and the trade union will pay 85% of the car rental cost (trade union 45%, company 40%), employees pay the remaining 15%. Employees only have to pay 20,000 - 50,000 VND depending on the trip, relatives pay 30,000 - 70,000 VND/person, depending on the trip. Children of workers under 3 years old are exempt from bus tickets. In case employees have permanent residence in localities at least 150km from the center of Hai Phong (with proof papers), the City Labor Federation will support bus tickets of 200,000 VND/ticket.
As for Dinh Vang Co., Ltd., buses taking workers home for Tet have also become a tradition. Up to this point, the trade union has listed workers who need buses to return home for Tet to propose and seek opinions from the leadership for support. Ms. Luong Thi Thanh Hai - Chairwoman of the company's Trade Union - said that the company has about 500-600 workers from distant provinces, mainly from northern mountainous provinces. Up to now, most workers have registered for themselves and their families to return home together. It is expected that the bus will depart around December 24-25 of the lunar calendar, earlier than the Tet holiday schedule for workers nationwide.
20,000 cash gifts
According to the Hai Phong City Labor Federation, during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the City Labor Federation will not organize bus trips, instead supporting 49,444 bus tickets for workers (distance from 150km or more) to return to their hometowns for Tet. Each ticket is worth 200,000 VND, with a total cost of 9,888,800,000 VND.
For workers in difficult circumstances, the City Labor Federation supports 20,000 gifts in cash, worth 1 million VND/gift; 3,000 Tet gift bags, worth 500,000 VND/gift bag; gives 5,000 free shopping vouchers (200,000 VND/voucher) to union members at Hai Phong Trade Union Tet Market 2026; supports 8,250 shopping vouchers at the online Tet Market program with a total value of 4.125 billion VND from the source of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. 6,600 workers will also have their motorbike oil changed for free during this Tet.
In addition to organizing bus trips to take workers home for Tet, grassroots trade unions are also urgently preparing activities to welcome Tet and celebrate Spring for union members. "The company rewards Tet bonuses for workers equal to 1.8 times the basic monthly salary. At the same time, Tet Sum vay will be organized on February 3 with many cultural and artistic activities, lucky draws.
