According to Hai Phong City Labor Federation, in 2026, the City Labor Federation will focus highly on union member development, establishing grassroots trade unions and grassroots trade unions. The City Labor Federation proposed that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor work with Vietnam Social Insurance to agree on the City Social Insurance sharing with the City Labor Federation information on units, businesses, and the number of employees participating in social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance in Hai Phong city, in order to propagate and mobilize and assign targets for union member development, establishment of grassroots trade unions, and collection of trade union finances for units.
Along with that, continue to review and urge units to develop union members, establish trade unions and grassroots trade unions; admit party members, establish party cells in the city; data from agencies, units, businesses, production and business establishments and employees based on the list provided by the City Social Insurance to have resources for establishing trade unions and grassroots trade unions in 2026.
By the end of the first quarter, the city's Trade Union levels had newly developed 54 grassroots trade unions with nearly 5,000 union members, and introduced 218 outstanding union members for the Party to consider and foster for admission.
Some units have done well in developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions such as the Industrial Zone Trade Union Board establishing 17 grassroots trade unions with 2,462 union members; Thanh Dong Ward Trade Union establishing 6 grassroots trade unions with 450 union members; Mao Dien Commune Trade Union establishing 2 grassroots trade unions with 727 union members; Luong Bang Commune Trade Union establishing 3 grassroots trade unions with 571 union members; Vinh Bao Commune Trade Union establishing 2 grassroots trade unions with 263 union members....
Quarter II. 2026, city-level Trade Unions aim to promote union member development, establish grassroots trade unions; review and exploit union member development sources from enterprise data; improve the quality of grassroots trade union activities; focus on developing union members in the non-state sector. In the immediate future, in Workers' Month 2026, Hai Phong City Labor Federation will launch a peak month on union member development, striving to develop 10,000 union members in Workers' Month.
