Two changes of grassroots Trade Union Chairmen
News from Hoa Khanh Ward Trade Union, Da Nang City on August 22nd said: Hoa Khanh Ward Trade Union organized a direct working session with union members and workers at Mirai Structural Design Vietnam Co., Ltd., in order to promptly grasp the situation, remove obstacles in organizational work, and consolidate the operation of grassroots trade unions.
Before working with union members and workers, Mr. Tra Thanh Quang - Chairman of Hoa Khanh Ward Trade Union, had an exchange with the Japanese Director of the company.
At the working session, Mr. Tra Thanh Quang informed about the operating situation of the grassroots Trade Union, and at the same time requested businesses to continue to coordinate and create conditions for the ward trade union to organize meetings, propaganda, and support for union members.
Previously, the grassroots Trade Union of Mirai Structural Design Vietnam Co., Ltd. was established more than a year ago. However, due to personnel changes, this organization has changed the Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union twice.
In the process of consolidating the Executive Committee, some young union members are still psychologically hesitant when participating in taking on the role, leading to many difficulties in the election of additional personnel.
Even at one point, there was an opinion that if a person could not be found to take over, the grassroots trade union should be dissolved.
Hoa Khanh Ward Trade Union directly dialogued, listened to the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers; and at the same time explained and clarified the role and meaning of trade union organizations in enterprises.
Trade unions are an important bridge
At the working session, Mr. Tra Thanh Quang emphasized that trade unions are not only representative organizations, caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers, but also an important bridge between workers and businesses, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.
Mr. Tra Thanh Quang also introduced the model "Trade Unions listen to union members and workers", encouraging union members to boldly share their thoughts and recommendations so that trade union organizations can promptly accompany and support them.
After a process of exchange, propaganda and consensus, the conference proceeded to elect an additional member of the Executive Committee and elect an additional Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union.
The consolidation of the apparatus is considered an important step, helping the trade union organization at enterprises to continue to stabilize, maintain operations and effectively implement programs to care for union members and workers.
According to Mr. Tra Thanh Quang, in the context of increasingly diverse labor relations at enterprises, developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions in units is only part of the task.
No less important is to maintain, consolidate and improve the quality of operation of trade union organizations that have been established, ensuring that they truly become a support for workers.
Along with that, propaganda to help workers understand correctly and fully about the role and function of the trade union organization continues to be identified as a key task.
