In the first 6 months of 2025, the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union (VTC) has performed well its task of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers.
In particular, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union has implemented many activities to care for union members and workers, with a total amount of 1,318,000,000 VND.
During the "Workers' Month" and the Month of Action on occupational safety and health in 2025, the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union organized many practical, meaningful and typical activities, such as giving 450 vouchers (each voucher worth 300,000 VND) to 450 union members and 20 gifts (each gift includes 1,000,000 VND in cash and 500,000 VND in kind) to union members in difficult circumstances; organizing visits and supporting 298 union members with a total amount of 298 million VND.
Trade unions at all levels supported and visited 3,366 union members with a total amount of VND 3.366 billion. In particular, the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union coordinated with Vietnam Post Corporation to open preferential booths for union members and workers to participate in purchasing goods, and coordinated with Medlatec Group to provide medical care and medical examination for cadres, union members and workers...
In the first 6 months of 2025, 324 new union members were developed; 415 outstanding union members were introduced to the Party and 389 new party members were admitted.
Regarding organization, staffing, building trade union organizations, improving the quality and efficiency of the work of the trade union staff, the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union continues to innovate the content and methods of trade union activities to ensure practicality and efficiency, while directing affiliated trade unions to develop appropriate action plans for the unit, closely following the key tasks of the industry and the higher-level trade unions to concretize in the work plan, close to reality and the requirements of digital transformation today.
Develop a project and implement the arrangement and consolidation of the organization of the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union according to Resolution No. 60-NQ/TW of the 11th Conference of the 12th Party Central Committee for the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and socio-political organizations.
Issued a decision to terminate the activities of 10 affiliated trade unions (including 3 trade unions at the grassroots level); handed over 01 trade union at the grassroots level to the People's Public Security Trade Union and 5 grassroots trade unions to other units; received 1 trade union at the grassroots level directly above the grassroots level (including 26 affiliated trade unions) and 14 grassroots trade unions from the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union; 22 grassroots trade unions under the Ministry of Science and Technology Trade Union.
As of July 1, 2025, the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union (VTC) manages 246 grassroots trade unions (CDCS), with 87,895 union members.
In which, 54 affiliated trade unions are directly directed, including 3 trade unions at the grassroots level and 51 affiliated grassroots trade unions.
Regarding the tasks for the last 6 months of 2025, the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union focuses on arranging and perfecting the organizational apparatus according to the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Review, amend and supplement regulations, rules, directives and instructions of trade union organizations to ensure consistency and unity with the renaming, arrangement and consolidation of the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union.
Continue to promote emulation movements, care for and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers. Focus on implementing the movement "The whole country competes in innovation and digital transformation" and the movement "Learning from digital skills" in trade unions at all levels.
Organize activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026.
