Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation Nguyen Thi Bich Nhiem emphasized that the first quarter meeting is an opportunity for professional departments and trade union officials to review the implementation of tasks right from the beginning of the year, promptly identify difficulties and obstacles, thereby proposing appropriate solutions to ensure the completion of the work objectives for 2026.
Currently, Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation has 2 professional departments, 11 commune and ward trade unions, managing 514 grassroots trade unions with more than 41,200 union members.
In the first quarter of 2026, trade union levels in the province closely followed the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and synchronously deployed many practical activities towards the grassroots level. Propaganda and political and ideological education for union members and workers were focused on; labor and production emulation movements to improve productivity and quality continued to be maintained and spread.
In particular, the work of caring for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers was implemented promptly. During the Lunar New Year At Ty, trade union levels organized the "Tet Sum vay" program, caring for 82,823 turns of union members, with a total budget of more than 64.5 billion VND.
The Provincial Labor Federation awarded 92 "Trade Union Homes", with a total budget of 4.05 billion VND from many socialized sources; supported 1,506 union members and workers affected by storm No. 10 (Bualoi) with an amount of over 1.5 billion VND, and shared and supported localities affected by storms and floods.
The conference also devoted time to discussing the work of developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions; the role of representing and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers; grasping labor relations and resolving recommendations at the grassroots level. Many frank opinions pointed out difficulties and proposed solutions to improve the effectiveness of trade union activities in the coming time.
Concluding the conference, the Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation acknowledged and praised the sense of responsibility of the team of full-time trade union officials in the first quarter of 2026.
At the same time, it requested specialized departments to continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, proactiveness, creativity, focus on improving the quality of grassroots trade unions, promote the development of union members, strengthen care and protection for workers and prepare well for key tasks of 2026.
