Identifying the health of workers as an important factor determining labor productivity, quality and sustainable development of enterprises, in the past time, trade union levels in Lao Cai province have actively implemented Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo on strengthening the protection, care and improvement of people's health.
Right from the beginning of 2026, the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation has directed trade union levels to include the content of health care for workers in the key work program, associated with Workers' Month, Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health and grassroots emulation movements.
Propaganda work has been promoted with many diverse forms. In the first 6 months of the year, trade union levels have organized more than 850 propaganda sessions on health care, disease prevention, occupational safety and health, reproductive health and mental health, attracting over 68,000 union members and workers to participate.

In addition, the trade union coordinates with businesses to organize periodic health check-ups, occupational disease detection check-ups and health care counseling for employees.
In the first half of 2026, more than 42,000 turns of union members and workers underwent periodic health check-ups; the health insurance participation rate reached over 98%.
Activities to support union members in difficult circumstances continue to be concerned. Trade union levels have visited and supported nearly 46,900 union members in difficult circumstances, suffering from dangerous diseases or suffering from labor accidents with a total budget of more than 75.6 billion VND.
At the same time, 11 "Trade Union Shelter" houses were newly built and repaired, contributing to helping many families stabilize their lives.

Not only taking care of physical health, trade union levels also focus on improving the spiritual life of workers. Many cultural, artistic, and sports activities are organized enthusiastically at agencies, units, and businesses.
Football, volleyball, pickleball, cross-country and "Workers' Day" tournaments have attracted more than 15,000 union members to participate, creating an atmosphere of solidarity and cohesion in the working collective.
