On the afternoon of June 13, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh and the working delegation inspected the actual construction progress of the Long Thanh International Airport project (abbreviated as Long Thanh airport).
The working delegation surveyed a series of key items including connecting traffic systems, inland port traffic routes, aircraft parking areas, overpasses and passenger terminals - the "heart" of the Long Thanh airport project.
According to a report by Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), the realized value of the entire project to date has reached over 76%. Contractors are simultaneously accelerating, organizing "3 shifts, 4 teams" day and night, and at the same time responding to the "180 days of accelerating to reach the finish line" emulation period.
Currently, the construction site maintains an average of more than 6,800 direct workers, an increase of more than 6.5% compared to the end of May 2026. However, the project still lacks nearly 2,000 personnel compared to the requirements, mainly skilled technical workers and personnel operating specialized equipment.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung, Acting General Director of ACV, said that the investor is requesting contractors to supplement enough, even supplement excess manpower to organize construction day and night, prioritizing early completion of items to limit the impact of weather during the rainy season.
Some key items are achieving positive results such as the tunnel system has been completed, the power supply for construction has been fully supplied to units, and the elevated bridge in front of the station only has the last 7 beams left.
Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh requested the parties to review the entire construction volume, settlement documents, and at the same time pay attention to caring for and encouraging the team of engineers and workers who are sticking to the construction site day and night.
Regarding the completion work, the Minister requested to implement it according to the motto of doing it thoroughly, ensuring synchronization between construction and landscape embellishment. Completed areas must be cleaned, and immediately implement the planting of grass and green trees in the rainy season to create aesthetics for the project. At the same time, he requested the investor and contractor to coordinate with the military force to support the work of cleaning up, renovating the landscape, and planting trees at the construction site.
