On May 18, at Hue Central Hospital, the Vietnam Medical Union coordinated with the Ministry of Health and related units to organize the Launching Ceremony of the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health; Health Sector Workers' Month 2026 and deploy the emulation movement "Health Sector Trade Union Accompanying Workers' Health in the period 2026-2030".
The program is organized under the direction of leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Ministry of Health on the implementation of activities to respond to the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health and the Workers' Month in 2026.
At the launching ceremony, the Ministry of Health and the Vietnam Health Workers' Union unanimously directed and implemented the emulation movement "Health sector trade union accompanies workers' health in the period 2026 - 2030".
The movement focuses on key tasks such as strengthening direction, information, and propaganda; guiding health facilities to strictly implement technical regulations on labor safety; coordinating to disseminate laws, and build a labor safety culture at units.
In addition, units in the industry will synchronously implement solutions to care for life, protect physical and mental health for medical staff and employees. Medical facilities strengthen investment in equipment, proactively control and minimize the risk of labor accidents and occupational diseases; improve the operational efficiency of the safety and hygiene network at the facility.
The movement also encourages technical innovation initiatives, applying science and technology associated with ensuring safety and labor hygiene in the process of performing professional tasks.
Within the framework of the program, the Organizing Committee awarded support to 10 medical staff of the Quang Tri Provincial Health sector who suffered from labor accidents, occupational diseases and 13 union members in difficult circumstances, suffering from dangerous diseases.
