Workers' lives and incomes have improved
On October 15, Ngu Hanh Son Ward Trade Union, Da Nang City held the 1st Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030.
According to the report of the Ngu Hanh Son Ward Trade Union Executive Committee submitted to the congress, the Ward Trade Union is currently assigned to manage 111 grassroots Trade Unions (CDCS), including 7 grassroots trade unions in the public service sector; 8 grassroots trade unions in the private school sector; 5 trade unions, 83 grassroots trade unions in the enterprise sector; with a total of 7,531 union members/8,173 workers and civil servants.
Recently, the number of workers in the ward has increased in quantity, diversified in composition, mainly distributed in the service and tourism sectors. The quality has been improved, the level of education, skills, expertise, and profession has been trained in basic skills, has industrial style, labor discipline, has high skills and the ability to access science, use modern technology, and the awareness of compliance with discipline, administrative discipline, and labor discipline is increasingly put into order.
The income of workers and civil servants has been increasingly improved, thanks to the policies of the state and enterprises.
However, there are still a number of union members, workers and civil servants who are facing difficulties in income, housing and are always under pressure from high market prices; there is still a situation of unpaid wages and social insurance, affecting the legitimate rights of employees and posing a potential risk of labor disputes in the area.
In the 2025 - 2030 term, Ngu Hanh Son Ward Trade Union sets out the main targets including: 90% of union members, workers and civil servants are propagandized and disseminated the Party's guidelines, policies, resolutions, the State's policies and laws, internal rules, regulations, and regulations of localities, agencies, units, and enterprises.
Strive for 90% of units and enterprises with 20 or more employees to establish grassroots trade unions; 90% of enterprise trade unions negotiate and sign collective labor agreements; 100% of non-state enterprise trade unions establish mass women's unions according to the provisions of the Vietnam Trade Union Charter; at least 75% of enterprise trade unions participate with employers in developing and implementing grassroots democracy regulations.
On average, each grassroots trade union (with a Party organization) introduces 1 outstanding union member to the Party for consideration and annual admission; over 20% of union members, workers and civil servants are entitled to preferential products and services from partners who have signed a welfare program.
Focus on the task of protecting and caring
In the new term, the Executive Committee of Ngu Hanh Son Ward Trade Union will focus on performing the task of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests; caring for the lives of union members and workers.
Proactively advise and coordinate with competent authorities to inspect and supervise the implementation of labor laws, the Trade Union Law, the DCCS Implementation Law and issues related to the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers.
Guiding businesses to improve the quantity and quality of collective labor agreements; focusing on negotiating wages, bonuses, quality of mid-shift meals, improving working conditions, ensuring occupational safety and health and basic issues on advanced welfare.
Coordinate with employers to effectively implement the Grassroots Democracy Regulations, focusing on improving the quality of labor conferences.
Strengthen coordination to ensure security and grasp the labor situation at enterprises. Improve the effectiveness of occupational safety and health work, build a culture of labor safety at the workplace, improve working conditions, prevent occupational accidents and diseases for workers.
Improve the effectiveness of the "Union member welfare program, coordinate with organizations and businesses to implement welfare programs (rehabilitation, periodic health check-ups, loan support, etc.).
Continue to maintain and develop effective models such as: Improving the quality of shift meals; "Tet Sum Vay" program, "Workers' Month" activities, "Workers' Safety and Hygiene Action Month"; "Union Shelter" program; Coordinate the organization of cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere for workers.
