Currently, the Vietnam Agricultural and Environment Trade Union manages 15 trade unions at the direct superior level and 153 affiliated grassroots trade unions with the number of union members 56,900/76,204 workers.
In the first 6 months of 2025, the Vietnam Agricultural and Environment Trade Union has paid attention to and presented many meaningful gifts to union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025: Spending to support 61 affiliated units with 1,379 gifts with a total amount of 1.394 billion VND; organizing the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng" to give 349 gifts to workers in the agricultural, tea and coffee sectors, each gift worth from 1-1,3 million VND; issuing 623 online shopping vouchers; giving more than 8,300 gifts to workers in difficulty with a total amount of over 9.88 billion VND; supporting the construction of "Union Shelter" houses... Units in the industry have also coordinated with the government to organize activities and support 8,267 workers, workers with a total amount of 9.88 billion VND.
In the 2025 Workers' Month, trade unions at all levels organized to honor and commend 1,148 workers and union members with achievements in labor and production with many initiatives and creativity; achieved high results in Skilled Workers' competitions; organized 144 Forums "Party with Workers - Workers with the Party" with 16,380 participants; organized 162 "May Dialogue" with 15,957 participants. The trade unions of affiliated units coordinated with employers to organize 143 "Thank you to workers" events with 8,682 participants; commending 836 workers for their efforts to overcome difficulties, outstanding workers, and workers with many years of experience; 41 units organized tours, vacations, and meetings with workers' families with 4,086 participants; 141 units organized the "Cultural and Sports Festival" with 13,173 participants; developing 195 new union members, and establishing 02 more grassroots unions. On this occasion, the Industry Union supported 452 gifts for union members and employees in difficult circumstances, those with serious illnesses, and those who had work-related accidents of 21 business units, each gift worth 1-2 million VND, with a total support amount of 496 million VND.
Trade unions at all levels in the industry have stepped up propaganda and actively implemented participation in policy making: Organizing dialogue at the workplace, negotiating the signing of Collective Labor Agreements; providing legal advice to 125 people.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Ha Xuyen - Chairman of the Vietnam Agricultural and Environmental Trade Union - said that in the coming time, he will focus on directing and implementing the following key groups of tasks:
Continue to better perform the function of representing, protecting, caring for union members and employees and building and developing trade union organizations in conjunction with the function of participating in State management and inspection and supervision in the field of Agriculture and Environment, thereby building and consolidating the position and role of trade union organizations with the Ministry and affiliated units in the new situation.
Continue to streamline the organizational apparatus, operate effectively and efficiently in the spirit of Resolution No. 60/NQ-TW of the Politburo and according to the guidance and direction of the General Confederation of Labor, associated with training to improve the qualifications and skills of trade union officials to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation. Pay attention to taking care of workers' lives and implementing welfare programs according to workers' instructions.
