On the afternoon of January 7, the Da Nang City Labor Federation (LDLD) organized a support ceremony for 52 members of Tam Giang Fisheries Trade Union (under Nui Thanh Commune Trade Union). Each member received a gift worth 2 million VND in cash.
Previously, during the fishing and exploitation of seafood in the East Sea, a fishing boat of fishermen belonging to the Tam Giang Fisheries Union caught fire and completely sank into the sea.
The union members and lucky boat owners were all rescued in time thanks to a nearby fishing boat. To date, all union members have been safely brought home, only 1 union member is being treated at Nha Trang General Hospital, Khanh Hoa province.
Grasping the difficult circumstances of the union members, the Nui Thanh Commune Trade Union has issued a document requesting the City Labor Federation to support and share with the Tam Giang Fisheries Union. Based on the Trade Union's financial regulations, the City Labor Federation has approved 104 million VND to support 52 union members and fishermen belonging to the Tam Giang Fisheries Union who were victims.
At the gift-giving ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, shared the difficulties that union members encountered. Ms. Anh wished union members to quickly stabilize their psychology, health and continue to stick to the sea to not only ensure family economy but also contribute to protecting the sovereignty of the homeland's sea and islands.
