Attending the meeting were leaders of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation, leaders of Sa Pa Town Party Committee - People's Committee; leaders and officials of Sa Pa Trade Union through the ages.
At the meeting, delegates reviewed the 45-year tradition of building and developing the Sa Pa Trade Union. Accordingly, the Sa Pa District Trade Union (now Sa Pa Town) was established on February 20, 1980 under Resolution No. 1192 of the Hoang Lien Son Provincial Party Committee with 198 union members.
After 45 years of construction and development, the whole town now has more than 5,500 workers, civil servants, and laborers; more than 4,500 union members with 123 grassroots unions.
Through each development stage, Sa Pa Trade Union has always effectively performed its role of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers, civil servants, and laborers; coordinating with competent authorities to inspect and supervise the implementation of regimes and policies, detect and resolve conflicts in labor relations, contributing to ensuring harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations in enterprises.
The work of caring for workers' lives has always been maintained every year with practical activities and programs such as: "Union Shelter", "Workers' Month", "Tet Sum Vay"... Thereby, mobilizing the cooperation and contribution of companies, enterprises, and benefactors to support workers and laborers in difficult circumstances, those who have had work accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, etc.
Promoting the glorious tradition of the past 45 years, in the coming time, Sa Pa Trade Union is determined to compete to achieve outstanding achievements in the fields of work, labor and production, contributing with the Party Committee and the people of local ethnic groups to successfully achieve the goals and tasks of socio-economic development set forth in the resolutions of Party Congresses and trade union congresses at all levels.
On this occasion, 1 individual received a Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; 1 collective received the Emulation Flag of the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation; 6 collectives and 15 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation; 21 individuals and 10 collectives received Certificates of Merit from the Sa Pa Town Labor Federation; 16 union members in difficult circumstances were awarded support.
