On September 20, the atmosphere at the First Team Vietnam Garment Company Limited Branch (Loc Son Industrial Park, Lam Dong) was more bustling than usual. After work, each worker excitedly left with a warm moon cake basket in hand.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tram - a stage worker, who has been with the company for more than 7 years shared: "Every year, the union and the Board of Directors come to give Mid-Autumn Festival gifts. We are very touched and motivated to work better.
Sharing that joy, Ms. Ka Yen - a garment worker at garment factory 1, a member of the Co Ho ethnic group, said that before joining the company, she had never known about the Mid-Autumn Festival.
For the past 6 years, she has received gifts from the union every year. "My children eagerly waited for their mother to bring the cakes home so that the whole family could gather to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival," she said emotionally.
According to Ms. Tran Ngoc Nhu Quynh - Chairman of the grassroots union, the workers in the branch are mostly female. Of which, over 90% are ethnic minorities, with many difficulties in life.
Understanding this, the trade union always tries to take the best care of workers, especially on holidays, Tet, Workers' Month, birthdays, etc.
This year's Mid-Autumn Festival, the union mobilized resources and raised funds to give gifts to 100% of workers, each worth 230,000 VND.
Previously, on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28), the unit also organized a "Union Meal" with a meal worth 50,000 VND.
"We will continue to strive, organize many practical activities, both taking care of workers' lives and accompanying the sustainable development of the company so that workers have stable jobs and better income," Ms. Quynh affirmed.
