On September 17, Ms. Lam Kim Lieng, in Lac Duong commune, excitedly said that her family had just moved to a newly built spacious house with the support of the union organization and the community.
Ms. Lieng is a union member and a worker in difficult circumstances who was supported by the Lam Dong Provincial Trade Union to build a house.
"The wooden house was dilapidated for a long time. My family also saved a little money but it wasn't enough to repair it. I am very happy and touched to be supported to build this new house, Ms. Lieng shared.
According to Mr. Nguyen Phu Hoang - Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation, each year the union supports the construction and repair of nearly 100 "Union Shelters".
Each newly built house is supported with 40 - 50 million VND, and 20 - 30 million VND for repairs. In addition, union members have accumulated or borrowed more from relatives, combined with support for working days from the locality and the grassroots union, so many spacious houses have been completed.
Each house is the sentiment and sharing of the union and the community for the workers. This is a meaningful gift to help union members with housing difficulties settle down and make a living, Mr. Hoang emphasized.
He also said that the provincial trade union has diversified resources, mobilized sponsorship, and saved spending to have support funds.
The work of reviewing and counting is carried out regularly; at the same time, all revenue and expenditure sources are transparent, thanks to which the "Union Shelter" program always receives enthusiastic support from sponsors and the community.
From this approach, Lam Dong Provincial Trade Union continues to accompany union members and workers in difficulty in building houses, contributing to ensuring social security in the area.
