According to the report from the Tra Vinh Provincial Federation of Labor in the first 6 months of 2025, trade unions at all levels admitted 3,198 new union members (a decrease of 350 union members); established 05 grassroots unions, trade unions with 20 or more employees, reducing 44 grassroots unions due to merging a number of administrative agencies.
To date, the whole province has 66,454 union members/68,198 employees and 904 grassroots unions and trade unions.
Trade unions at all levels have introduced 501 outstanding union members for the Party to consider, train, and admit, reaching 55% of the assigned target.
Ms. Tran Thi Kim Chung - President of Tra Vinh Provincial Federation of Labor said that the highlight is the admission of union members not only focusing on the administrative - career sector, but also expanding to non-state enterprises - where many workers are not fully protected in terms of rights.
With proactive adherence to the grassroots, many union officials have visited boarding houses and production workshops to propagate and mobilize workers to participate in the Trade Union organization, while promptly listening to and grasping their thoughts and aspirations.
Developing union members is a core task, not only to expand the organization but also a prerequisite to effectively care for and protect the rights of workers.
"In the coming time, we will continue to focus on developing enterprises without trade unions, increasing care for material and spiritual life so that union members clearly see the benefits of participating," added the Chairman of the Tra Vinh Provincial Federation of Labor.
