Hai Phong - On the afternoon of June 9, the working delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor visited and presented gifts to a number of union members who had work-related accidents and were in difficult circumstances.

The working group led by Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu visited Mr. Vu Khac Dung (born in 1985, residing in An Hung ward, Hong Bang district, a worker at LihitLab Company Limited who lost his right hand in a work accident) and Mr. Pham Anh Tuan (born in 1979, residing in An Dong ward, An Duong district, a worker at hereco Group Joint Stock Company, who lost his right arm in an accident while repairing a paper grinder).

On the same afternoon, the working delegation led by Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh also visited and presented gifts to union member Pham Thi Hoa (born in 1976, residing in Le Chan District, Hai Phong). Ms. Hoa is a worker at Hai Phong Urban Environment Company Limited. During the shift, Ms. Hoa was hit by a motorbike, resulting in a traumatic brain injury, cerebral hemorrhage, broken jaw bone and broken cheekbone. Currently, Ms. Hoa is unable to work.

At the family meeting, the Vice Presidents of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor kindly visited the health status of union members as well as the difficulties in their current lives. The leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor hope that union members will rise up in life. At the same time, the city's Trade Unions at all levels are directed to pay more attention to union members in difficult circumstances and those who have had work-related accidents. The grassroots trade union is interested in and proposes that enterprises arrange suitable jobs for workers in work-related accidents, have appropriate support policies and regimes to encourage workers to overcome difficulties and stick with the enterprise.

On this occasion, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor presented gifts worth 5 million VND/gift along with gifts in kind worth 500,000 VND; the Hai Phong City Labor Federation also presented gifts worth 2 million VND to encourage union members and workers.
