According to a report from the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor, in 2025, the Vinh Long Labor Union will focus on implementing Target 1 according to Program No. 09/CTr-TLD of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on developing union members and establishing grassroots unions.
Despite the impact of provincial mergers, the dissolution of administrative and career grassroots trade unions and grassroots trade unions with union members who do not meet regulations, the work of developing union members has still achieved positive results.
The report of the Provincial Federation of Labor shows that by December 10, the whole province had developed 30,024 new union members and established 84 new grassroots unions after the merger.
Currently, Vinh Long Trade Union directly manages 578 grassroots trade unions with 161,636 union members out of a total of 181,469 workers, reaching a rate of 89.07%, consolidating the staff after the merger.
The strong and synchronous direction at all levels has contributed to enhancing the capacity and effectiveness of the Trade Union's activities, enhancing solidarity with union members and workers.
According to the plan, in 2026, Vinh Long Trade Union strives to develop union members and establish a grassroots trade union to achieve the targets assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. During the year, the peak months of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions will be implemented.
In addition, Vinh Long Trade Union determined to continue to innovate and implement the project to establish Commune and Ward Trade Unions. The goal is to improve the effectiveness of grassroots trade union activities, strengthen the staff, strengthen the connection between the organization and union members, towards a strong and sustainable provincial trade union organization.
