On May 10, the Gia Lai Provincial Labor Federation announced the opening of the 2026 Gia Lai Provincial Workers' Football Tournament for the 2nd Dat Vo Workers' Cup.
The tournament is a practical activity to celebrate the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress and respond to Workers' Month 2026.
Participating in the tournament are 42 teams from grassroots trade unions directly under the Provincial Labor Federation, divided into 2 competition areas. In which, the western area has 16 teams, and the eastern area has 26 teams.
In the eastern region, 26 teams are divided into 6 groups, playing in a round-robin format to select 16 teams to enter the 1/8 round in a knockout format.
Groups A, B, C and D select the first and second place teams in each group along with 2 third place teams with the best results to the next round. Groups E and F, each group including 5 teams, select 3 teams to the knockout round.
According to the plan, the final match between the eastern regional champion and the western regional champion will take place on May 23 at the Football Center of the Culture - Sports Center belonging to the Trade Union Facilities Zone, Quy Nhon Bac ward.
According to the Organizing Committee, the tournament aims to promote the movement of physical training and sports among workers, improve spiritual life, and at the same time strengthen exchanges and connections between union members and workers at agencies, units, and businesses.
