English study evening at work
Mr. Tran Van Chi is from Mai Chau district (Hoa Binh). 5 years ago, after graduating from grade 12, Mr. Chi was taken by his cousin to a handicraft workshop in Thanh Tri district (Hanoi) to work for her husband's family.
For the first 6 months, he was paid 4 million VND/month for both studying and being a part-time worker, and was provided with a food bag right at the workshop. After that, he was paid as a main worker. Up to now, Mr. Chi has a salary of 12 million VND/month.
Many times returning home during the holidays, Mr. Chi was surprised by the changes in his hometown. In the district, many homestay tourism businesses, sometimes a hamlet forms a tourist cluster, welcoming guests all year round. Thanks to the development of social networks and promotions, more and more customers come to eat and relax, a significant number of them are foreign tourists.
In addition, the partner of the handicraft workshop where Mr. Chi works also has many customers from European countries, Japan, Korea, and China. In the workshop, there is a marketing staff who knows English, so they often sit at meetings with the boss, and the salary is much higher than the other staff.

Realizing the opportunity to learn another foreign language proficiently, from 2022, Mr. Chi registered to study English at an English center on Ngoc Hoi Street (Thanh Tri, Hanoi). "Every week, I finish work at 5pm, take advantage of eating and then go to English class. Income of more than 10 million VND/month, no expenses for accommodation, electricity, water, lunch, breeding workshop owner; In addition to evening meals, I send my parents 3 million VND/month each month, the remaining amount I invest in learning English. I bought an additional computer to facilitate my listening skills. I am confident that I can communicate well until the end of this year," said Mr. Chi.
According to Mr. Chi, he discussed with his parents in his hometown to borrow from relatives and used his savings to renovate the family's stilt house. If used properly, his family can welcome up to 30 guests/time; not to mention growing vegetables, raising chickens, ducks, rabbits... "I will return to my hometown to do tourism. I will connect with travel companies or tourism websites to promote my hometown and my family's vacation," Mr. Chi confided.
Learning a trade for the dream of becoming a "leyender"
Mr. Hoang Trong Tu is from Uong Bi city (Quang Ninh). 3 years ago, Mr. Tu followed his friend to Hanoi to work at a repair shop and a phone spa on Phao Dai Lang Street (Dong Da, Hanoi).
The work was quite favorable at first, after which the market was saturated, the owner announced the dissolvement of the facility in Hanoi and sent all employees to Ho Chi Minh City to establish a new facility. Not wanting to be away from his family and not be confident in returning to his hometown to start a business, Mr. Tu did not follow his boss but stayed in Hanoi to work at an imported fruit warehouse. Working part-time, 6 hours/day, Mr. Tu studied and decided to register to study at a vocational college on Ho Tung Mau Street, Cau Giay District (Hanoi).
"I registered to study electromechanical engineering, the school even committed to ensuring output and introducing jobs to students after graduation. My parents see that I am determined to study and also very supportive and ready to support each semester in paying tuition fees or buying learning and practice equipment. At first, I felt that studying and working was quite difficult, but seeing my peers studying at all levels, job opportunities were much better, and I had more motivation to try harder, said Mr. Tu.
Currently, Tu is in his final year. Although his studies are busier, he still does not quit his job at the fruit warehouse. colleagues at the warehouse are also willing to support him in each exam or practice at the factory. "I believe that when I have a degree, improve my skills, and apply, even if the salary for the employer is easier. That is the motivation for me to try, Mr. Tu was determined.
