Being owed wages by businesses and late payment of social insurance for a long time, many workers are in debt and have to turn to Lao Dong Newspaper to protect their rights.

Being owed salary, not being able to pay social insurance

Mr. N.N.S worked as a programmer at Kim Nam - Tech Co., Ltd. (No. 562 Nguyen Van Cu, Long Bien Ward, Hanoi City) from July 2024 - November 2025.

“I and Kim Nam - Tech Co., Ltd. signed a term labor contract from July 22, 2024 to November 22, 2025, with a salary of 21,000.000 VND/month. However, up to now, the company has not paid my salary in November, December 2024 and July, August, September, October, November 2025, with a total outstanding amount of 141,000,000 VND. The company has not paid social insurance for me for 15 months.

I have repeatedly contacted and exchanged directly with the legal representative of the Company, Mr. Nguyen Kim Hung, to request the company to fulfill its obligation to pay wages according to the signed labor contract. The prolonged payment delay seriously affects the legitimate rights and interests of workers" - Mr. N.N.S said.

His wife is pregnant, the family is in difficulty, Mr. N.N.S had to borrow more than 100 million VND to cover living expenses. He hopes that after Lao Dong Newspaper speaks out, the company will pay salaries and social insurance for employees.

Due to repeated requests for salary payment and social insurance contributions but not being resolved, Mr. N.N.S resigned and sent a petition to the Inspectorate of the Department of Home Affairs. However, he and his colleagues have not yet received a response.

The company apologizes to employees, but has not yet paid salaries

Also falling into the same situation as Mr. N.N.S, Mr. Pham Van Hao said that from December 2024 to September 2025, Kim Nam - Tech Co., Ltd. continuously did not pay income fully and on time to him as agreed in the labor contract. Through checking information on the VssID - digital social insurance application, employees discovered that Kim Nam - Tech Co., Ltd. had not paid compulsory social insurance for the collective of employees for a long time.

Through exchange, the employee representative provided the reporter with a document responding to the request for payment of salary and social insurance signed by Mr. Nguyen Kim Hung - Chairman of Kim Nam - Tech Co., Ltd. on December 31, 2025.

The document reads: "In the past time, Kim Nam - Tech Co., Ltd. has received petitions, letters and opinions from a number of employees who have worked at the company, related to requesting payment of outstanding salaries and social insurance obligations according to regulations.

First of all, the company's Board of Directors would like to fully and seriously acknowledge your legitimate opinions and requests. The company is clearly aware that wages and social insurance are not only the legitimate rights of employees but also the mandatory legal responsibility of the enterprise according to the provisions of labor law and social insurance law.

However, in the past time, the company encountered legal obstacles that disrupted business operations, directly affecting the ability to pay on time for obligations to employees. The Board of Directors sincerely apologizes to you for the inconveniences, impacts and pressures that this delay has caused. The Company really hopes to receive understanding and sharing from you in the difficult context that Kim Nam is facing.

Kim Nam - Tech Co., Ltd. committed that before June 30, 2026, it will fully resolve the legitimate rights of employees. However, although the commitment period has passed, employees have not yet received their salaries and have not paid social insurance.
