In the first 5 months of 2026, implementing the program to develop union members and establish grassroots trade unions under the direction of the Provincial Labor Federation and the Party Committee of Van Don Special Zone, the Special Zone Trade Union has coordinated with functional agencies to review the business situation, promote propaganda, and mobilize workers to participate in trade union organizations.
Through surveys, there are more than 42 enterprises in the area that are eligible to develop union members and establish trade union organizations but do not yet have grassroots trade unions. The special zone trade union has focused on mobilizing in 15 enterprises with 8 or more employees, operating stably.
To date, 11 units have completed dossiers to establish grassroots trade unions and trade unions. Among them, 9 units organized launches at today's program (May 7) include: Salomon Company; Dang Phuc Thinh Company; Dong Tam Van Don Company; Anh Vinh Transport and Mechanical Construction Investment Company; Gia Vy Company; Phu Thinh Van Don Company; Van Don FARM Company; Hong Phat Seafood Cooperative and Dao Ngoc Van Don Cooperative.
At the ceremony, leaders of the Quang Ninh Provincial Labor Federation awarded decisions recognizing grassroots trade unions, decisions recognizing the Executive Committee of grassroots trade unions and presented flowers to congratulate newly established grassroots trade unions.

Speaking to assign tasks, Mr. To Xuan Thao, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial Labor Federation, acknowledged and praised the operating results of the Van Don Special Zone Trade Union in developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions. At the same time, he requested new grassroots trade unions to quickly stabilize their organizations, promote their representative role, care for and protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers; accompany businesses to build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.
Also at the program, 9 businesses and grassroots trade unions signed collective labor agreements.
