Training human resources according to business needs to retain labor

QUANG ĐẠI |

Manpower demand is increasing sharply in Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Thanh Hoa as economic zones and industrial parks continue to expand, and many new projects are put into operation. In 2025, businesses in the Southeast Economic Zone and Nghe An industrial parks will create jobs for 64,337 workers, an increase of nearly 17,000 people compared to the previous year. In 2026 alone, businesses are expected to need to recruit an additional 32,000 workers.

In Ha Tinh, it is forecasted that in the period 2026-2030, economic zones and industrial parks will need about 73,000 workers, focusing on mechanics, electronics, automotive technology, metallurgy, industrial construction, logistics and services. Thanh Hoa sets a target in the same new training, retraining and skill improvement phase for more than 420,000 workers in the context of economic zones, industrial parks and many projects continuing to expand.

Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh currently have a relatively large human resource training network, with about 153 institutions and units registering or participating in vocational education activities.

According to Dr. Ngo Sy Thanh Tung - Rector of Nghe An College of Economics and Technology No. 1, businesses currently and in the future need more mechanical, electrical, automation, CNC, equipment operation, quality management, logistics and foreign language workers.

According to Dr. Tung, when young people learn a suitable profession, find a job with good income and see opportunities for promotion right in their hometown, they will have more reasons to choose to stay in their hometown to work, instead of having to leave their hometown to seek opportunities.

At the closing ceremony of Vinh University of Technology and Education - now Vinh University of Technology and Education - more than 20 businesses and corporations directly came to recruit students. In 2026, the school will have 526 graduates, including 429 engineers, bachelors and 99 practical engineers. Many large enterprises such as: Luxshare - ICT, TH, Foxconn... organize consulting and recruiting personnel right at the graduation ceremony.

Talking to PV of Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Dinh Van Phong - Head of Enterprise and Labor Department, Management Board of Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone - said that the growth rate of businesses in the area is rapid, leading to a very large demand for human resources. Businesses are currently lacking both general labor and technically skilled labor.

According to Mr. Phong, many FDI enterprises in Nghe An have a need to recruit workers who know Chinese, but the supply is still limited. Workers who are both skilled and proficient in foreign languages will have more job opportunities, promotion and higher income.
