Building a "shield" from the grassroots level
On the eve of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, term 2026 - 2031, informing reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Tan Minh Long - Chairman of the Dien Bien Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) - said that with the characteristics of a mountainous province, the work of maintaining security and order and protecting workers is always put first by the provincial Trade Union levels.
Currently, the Provincial Labor Federation is directly managing 3 commune and ward trade unions and 72 grassroots trade unions with a total of 7,115 union members. In order to build a safe and healthy working environment, the Provincial Labor Federation has proactively implemented many programs and plans related to crime prevention and control and especially drug crime.

A bright spot in the movement is that every year, 100% of union members and workers are mobilized to sign commitments to implement the "Three No's" movement right at agencies, units, and businesses: "No drugs, no gambling for money, no traffic safety violations".
Trade union levels also actively propagate the message "Preventing and combating drugs for the health of workers; towards the goal of families, communities and workplaces without drugs".
Mr. Tan Minh Long said that in recent years, the Provincial Labor Federation has organized 20 rallies and parades in response to World Day and National Day for Drug Prevention and Control, attracting the participation of over 9,600 turns of officials and union members.
In addition, through the activities of "Workers' Month" and "Action Month for Occupational Safety and Health", more than 8,000 workers participated.
The Provincial Labor Federation also directly organized 15 specialized propaganda classes on drug and crime prevention and control for more than 1,500 union members, and at the same time distributed hundreds of thousands of communication publications, leaflets, and handbooks directly to workers.
Digitalization of propaganda
To make the work of protecting union members more effective in the coming time, Mr. Tan Minh Long said that the Provincial Labor Federation needs to continue to propagate and disseminate widely to trade union levels and officials, union members, and workers about the content of the national target program on drug prevention and control to 2030 and Sub-project 4 implemented by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Along with that is a strong transformation of content and methods of propaganda towards diversity and flexibility, closely combining direct propaganda with digital platforms and social networks. Messages need to be designed to be concise, easy to remember, and easy to access for workers.
In addition, strengthen the provision of documents for workers to clearly identify the consequences of synthetic drugs, especially sophisticated drugs that are "hiding", mixing, and marinating into food and drinks. At the same time, equip workers with ways to recognize tricks to lure, along with skills to proactively report crimes to functional agencies.
In particular, the Trade Union organization needs to show more clearly its responsibility in maintaining security and order at the grassroots level. Promote and promote the effectiveness of self-management models, typically the "Agency, unit, enterprise without drugs" model, thereby promptly commending and replicating advanced examples.
