Ha Tinh - Landing at Yen Trung station with a pair of free tickets to return to their hometown for reunion, many workers thanked the Trade Union organization for this meaningful program.

Happiness when returning to the countryside to celebrate Tet

At 5 pm on February 11, Mr. and Mrs. Duong and their young child, after a long journey from Ho Chi Minh City, landed at Yen Trung station, Duc Tho commune (Ha Tinh province) in the indescribable joy of relatives waiting to take them home in Cam Lac commune, Ha Tinh province.

Mr. Le Van Duong said that he and his wife are both workers at Han Nguyen Ky Wood Processing Co., Ltd. (located in Bac Tan Uyen commune, Ho Chi Minh City).

This Lunar New Year, the couple was given train tickets to their hometown by the Trade Union organization.

Their son alone had to buy a ticket home for 2.1 million VND to return to his hometown with his parents.

Thanks to the Trade Union organization giving train tickets, my husband and I saved a considerable amount of money. Thereby, helping my family have funds to shop for Tet during the days of reunion with grandparents in the countryside. This is a very meaningful program of the Trade Union organization. I hope that in the Tet holidays next year, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will continue to have a program of free train tickets to return to their hometowns for workers," Mr. Duong shared.

Thank you for free train tickets from the Trade Union organization

Leaving Yen Trung station, before getting on the car of a relative who had arrived to pick her up, Mr. Duong's wife, Ms. Le Thi Chung (born 1985) excitedly said that this Tet holiday, her family planned not to return to their hometown, but thanks to the Trade Union organization giving them train tickets, the family decided to return to their hometown to reunite with relatives.

Our family is very grateful to the Trade Union organization for supporting train tickets to return to our hometown. This is a very meaningful and practical activity showing the concern and care of the Trade Union organization for union members and workers in difficult circumstances," Ms. Chung confided.

Not only Mr. Duong's family, in the afternoon of the same day at Yen Trung station, there were also many workers from Ha Tinh who returned thanks to the free train ticket support program of the Trade Union organization.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong (born in 1987, from Thach Ha commune, Ha Tinh province), a garment worker at a business in Ho Chi Minh City, was moved when she just got off the train and hugged her elderly mother waiting at the station platform. She said that many years of working far from home, the cost of living in the city is high, making returning home for Tet always a concern.

This year, ticket prices have increased, I plan to stay in Ho Chi Minh City to work extra during Tet to save money. Fortunately, the Trade Union supported train tickets, so I was able to return home to reunite. Seeing my parents healthy, being reunited with my family in the first days of the year, I am really very happy," Ms. Hong expressed.

Mr. Tran Van Minh (born in 1986, from Cam Xuyen commune, Ha Tinh province), a mechanical worker working at Tan Binh Industrial Park (Ho Chi Minh City), also could not hide his joy when returning to his hometown after a year of hard work.

He said that both husband and wife are unskilled laborers, with income just enough to cover living expenses and raise young children.

If there were no free train tickets from the Trade Union, my family would have to spend a few million VND more on train and bus fares. That amount of money is very large for workers like us. Thanks to this program, we have the opportunity to return to our hometowns to celebrate Tet, burn incense for our ancestors, and gather with loved ones. I am really grateful to the Trade Union organization for always accompanying workers," Mr. Minh shared.

In the flow of people returning to their hometowns in the days leading up to Tet, free train tickets not only help workers save costs but also reconcile their arms after a year of separation. For many families working far from home, it is not simply a train trip, but a journey back to love and reunion.
