Welfare policies must be practical and close to the actual needs of workers
Sharing about the experience to achieve the "Exemplary Enterprise for Employees" awards, Ms. Pham Thi Thu Hong - General Director of Safoco - said that taking care of employees must start from stabilizing production and business, ensuring jobs, wages and income. When businesses maintain stable operations, employees have conditions to feel secure in working and sticking together for a long time. Determining that compliance with labor laws is an important foundation, the company always fully implements regimes on social insurance, types of insurance, working hours, rest, wages, organizes dialogues, employee conferences and signs full collective labor agreements.
The company's welfare policies must be practical and close to the actual needs of employees. Contents such as mid-shift meals, health care, labor protection, support for difficulties, and care for female employees and their children are policies that have a direct impact, creating attachment and trust of employees in the company.
In particular, grassroots trade unions must participate substantively in the process of building and supervising policies related to employees. Trade unions not only organize movements but also act as a bridge to grasp thoughts, aspirations, recommendations and propose appropriate solutions to the company's Board of Directors. Along with that, businesses need to maintain dialogue, publicity, transparency and respect for employees. This is an important factor in building harmonious and stable labor relations, limiting disputes, and creating consensus in the development process" - Ms. Hong emphasized.
