Liverpool is said to have contacted RB Leipzig to discuss the possibility of recruiting Yan Diomande in the summer transfer window of 2026. The young Ivory Coast striker has just experienced an explosive season in the German team's colors and is becoming a target for many European "giants".
Diomande emerged as one of the most notable young talents in Europe after scoring 13 goals and having 10 assists in 36 appearances for Leipzig in the 2025-2026 season. The 19-year-old player just joined the Bundesliga team from Leganes for a fee of about 20 million Euros last summer and currently has a contract until February 2030.
Recognizing the great potential of Diomande, Leipzig is said to value this player at 130 million Euros. However, that does not stop the interest from top teams, including Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.
According to many sources, Diomande has reached a personal agreement with PSG. However, Liverpool has not given up the race. British media reported that the Anfield club has actively contacted Leipzig to start discussions and is currently considered one of the top candidates in this deal.
However, the "Reds" still face many obstacles. Leipzig has no intention of selling the young star this summer, while the Merseyside team is also cautious with a transfer fee of over £110 million, especially after spending heavily in recent transfer windows.
One factor that could bring an advantage to Liverpool is the gap in attack after the departure of Mohamed Salah. While PSG has many quality options on both wings such as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue or Bradley Barcola, Liverpool needs to add more personnel to the attacking front.
Diomande is considered a suitable option for Fenway Sports Group's development strategy thanks to his young age but has shown outstanding development potential. New coach Andoni Iraola is also famous for his ability to develop young players, which could make this deal more attractive to the talent from Ivory Coast.
