Business clarifies expectations
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Ha - representative of US English Center System (Ha Dong ward, Hanoi) - said that currently, about 90% of personnel working at the company are young people, mainly of Gen Z generation. According to Ms. Hai Ha, this is a force with many outstanding strengths such as creativity, enthusiasm and high sense of responsibility. However, a common limitation is the lack of clear orientation in handling work.
You are very enthusiastic, willing to do it, but sometimes you don't know what to do. When situations arise, you still try to handle them, leading to mistakes and then putting pressure on yourself for your responsibility," Ms. Hai Ha shared.
From the reality that the young labor force accounts for a large proportion, Ms. Ha believes that keeping young personnel is not only based on remuneration and income but also on the way the business leads. Right from the recruitment and input training stages, job standards and goals need to be clarified, and at the same time, expectations between employees and the company need to be unified.

“We set specific standards. When you know clearly what you are expected of and achieve those standards, you will feel confident, love your job and tend to stick with it longer,” Ms. Ha said.
Not only stopping at work goals, businesses also focus on building a flexible working environment. Breaks, conversation spaces or 30 minutes of sharing each day are maintained as part of company culture, helping young employees express their views and learn from each other.
According to Ms. Ha, instead of trying to change to adapt to young people, the company chooses to adjust selectively to suit all subjects, ensuring the needs of personnel and unity in operation. "We are changing to be more suitable, but not to fully adapt, but we want young people to understand the requirements of the company, their values in the organization. Each place has its own standards and when everyone understands and aims for a common goal, there will no longer be a situation of each person going in a different direction, increasing the ability to be attached for a long time," Ms. Ha emphasized.
Young people need a development roadmap
Working in a media company in the video editing position, Mr. Vu Duc Giang (26 years old, Khuong Dinh ward, Hanoi) believes that the important factor for him to stick with is not only income, working environment but also the clarity and development orientation of the company.
According to Mr. Giang, in creative fields such as communication, progress pressure and adjustment requirements are frequent. "If you do not have a clear direction from the beginning, or do not know what the company is expecting, it is very easy to get confused. There are times when you have to adjust many times, it is very easy to make workers feel discouraged and quit their jobs," Mr. Giang said.
Reality shows that when job requirements and evaluation criteria are clearly defined, work efficiency is significantly improved. Workers are also more proactive in the process of handling work, instead of completely relying on feedback from superiors.
In addition, spaces for exchanging and talking with managers and colleagues help young people accumulate practical experience, or plan further professional training. These are also factors that contribute to retaining personnel, when they feel support and development opportunities from the company.
Mr. Duc Giang also believes that young people today can change jobs in a short time if they do not see a clear roadmap and are not suitable for the corporate culture.
I think myself or other young people would like to work in a transparent environment, have the opportunity to develop and be recognized. Of course, each person's personal requirements are different, but I think clarity and creating conditions are one of the things needed for me to stick with it for a long time," said Mr. Giang.
