Need to recruit 200 more workers
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh (30 years old) - a recruiter at a garment company in Nam Dinh shared that the company has just signed a long-term order with 2 new customers. Therefore, the company's leaders decided to establish a new branch and recruit more workers to be ready for production from October 2024. "In mid-September, the director discussed with me the recruitment plan for the new branch with about 200 workers. The orders were so large and urgent that the company had to rent the old factory instead of building a new one" - Mr. Thanh shared.
Mr. Thanh said that from this point on, the recruitment department had to strongly promote recruitment on all channels. From outdoor billboards, flyers to social networks, everything had to be done urgently and continuously to attract workers.
According to Mr. Thanh, large orders should be extended until the middle of next year. The immediate goal set by the director is to recruit at least 50 workers for the new branch by the beginning of October. By the end of November, recruit enough 200 workers to ship goods before Tet.
Many attractive policies but difficult to recruit
To attract workers to the new branch, Mr. Thanh's company has offered many attractive policies. In addition to the usual policies and benefits, the company also offers an additional bonus of 1 million VND for skilled workers, 500,000 VND for unskilled workers, and free vocational training but still receives a salary. However, according to Mr. Thanh, recruitment is very difficult at this time, but he will still try his best. The reason he revealed is that workers prefer to work freely.
Besides, there are only 4 months left until Lunar New Year, so workers are also hesitant to quit their jobs or change their workplaces.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan - Director of Tuan Duyen Garment Company Limited - said that although many attractive policies have been implemented since the beginning of September, it is still difficult to recruit.
"Our company has increased the production bonus, bonus for new workers, no late overtime, and early departure when there is personal business, but from the beginning of the month until now we have only recruited 20 people" - Mr. Tuan said.
According to Mr. Tuan, in order to ship goods before Tet, it is expected that at least 50 additional workers will be needed each month to compensate for the old workers who have quit. With the current difficult situation, Mr. Tuan shared that it is likely that he will have to work overtime and hire more outside workers to work on weekends.
The young director said that every year, when September and October come, recruitment becomes more difficult. The main reason revealed by Mr. Tuan is that more and more companies are being established, with many policies and benefits, workers will have more choices.
It is expected that in October, if there are still not enough additional workers, Mr. Tuan will let the workers work overtime until 7:30 p.m. instead of 6:30 p.m. as at present. At the same time, on Sundays, he will have to hire experienced workers from outside to work, paying 150% higher than normal wages to ensure production progress.
According to the reporter's recent observations on the recruitment board of Thang Long Industrial Park (Dong Anh, Hanoi), many companies are in need of workers. For example, Volex Vietnam Co., Ltd. has announced that it urgently needs to recruit production workers for shifts 1 and 2. Requirements include a high school diploma or higher, and age 18-35. The policy that this company offers is that workers receive a diligence allowance, living allowance, travel allowance, and a 13th month salary...
Sato Vietnam Co., Ltd. is also urgently recruiting 40 production workers, with a salary of more than 7 million VND (excluding overtime) and some other benefits...
