Businesses increase recruitment at the end of the year, forecast "thirsty" for logistics personnel

Can Tho - The sharp increase in import and export and freight transportation in the coming time will make positions in warehousing and supply chain management "thirsty" for personnel.

According to the Can Tho City Employment Service Center (DVVL), in September, the labor market in the city continued to develop positively with increased recruitment demand from businesses to serve year-end production orders and prepare for the 2027 Lunar New Year. In which, large recruitment demand continues to focus on general labor and technical workers.

The city's on-site labor supply forecast center in September is quite abundant. The job search demand of workers is mainly concentrated in the industrial, commercial and service sectors.

However, job search demand may stagnate because workers often stay at work waiting for Tet bonuses, which will cause businesses that need a large number of workers in the city to expand the search for workers to neighboring provinces and cities to be able to recruit the required number.

Industry groups focusing on recruiting a large number of workers are forecast to be processing, manufacturing and manufacturing industries (textile, footwear, food processing, woodworking, electronics or component manufacturing industries); logistics, warehousing and delivery (warehousing, packaging, cargo handling and delivery drivers); commerce, retail and consumer services (recruiting sales staff, warehouse inventory, service and seasonal workers at shopping centers, supermarkets and chain stores).

Import and export activities and goods transportation will increase sharply in the coming time, causing positions in warehousing and supply chain management to be in a state of "thirst" for personnel. In addition, the commercial - retail industry will account for a large proportion of recruitment to meet the increased purchasing power of people in the late year period.

In general, recruitment demand in September and the last months of 2026 is forecast to continue to be positive thanks to stable FDI flows, digital transformation and business expansion activities in key industries.

Digital transformation, automation and production capacity improvement continue to shape recruitment needs as businesses increasingly prioritize candidates who are capable of leading process improvements and applying technology. Meanwhile, the city's high-quality human resource supply is still limited, especially in technical, semiconductor, automation and senior management positions.

In the coming time, businesses will still increase personnel recruitment thanks to optimistic growth prospects, but will shift to key positions, which have an impact on the production and business activities of the unit. Therefore, employees need to proactively improve their professional capacity, digital skills and adaptability to seize future job opportunities.
