Established on November 1, 2007 on the basis of merging the Vietnam Industrial Trade Union and the Vietnam Trade Union for Trade and Tourism, the Vietnam Trade Union for Industry and Trade has quickly affirmed its position as one of the large-scale central industry trade unions with a tight organizational system and effective operations.
Over the past 18 years, the Vietnam Trade Union has always been a solid support for hundreds of thousands of union members and workers, especially in the context of extensive international integration, economic restructuring and the impact of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution.
Trade unions at all levels in the industry have promoted their role in representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers; proactively negotiating, signing and supervising the implementation of thousands of Collective Labor Agreements; at the same time, coordinating with businesses to build a safe, harmonious and progressive working environment.
In response to the requirements of industrialization, green transformation and digital transformation, the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade identified the key task as comprehensive innovation of methods of operation, taking workers as the center, effectively caring for and protecting union members' rights as a measure of work quality.
The industry union is gradually applying information technology in managing union members, deploying digital platforms to serve propaganda, training and support activities for workers.
