Opportunity for employees to express their thoughts
Mr. Doan Huu Duc - a worker at Nam Viet Joint Stock Company - shared: "Through many dialogues I have attended, I see that this is truly an opportunity for workers to express their thoughts and aspirations. Regarding opinions and recommendations that have not been answered in time, the Provincial Federation of Labor will still inform them at the next dialogue."
Chairman of the Trade Union of An Giang Samho Company Limited, Vo Thanh Nha, said: The dialogue program between provincial leaders and workers is very necessary. The program is truly a forum. There, workers can express and have all their questions and concerns answered.
“Through the dialogues I attended, I saw that the provincial leaders and the sectors have well resolved the issues of law compliance by business owners, the quality of shift meals, support for loans for workers with preferential interest rates, the enjoyment of cultural and spiritual values for workers as well as maintaining security and order in localities and areas with a large number of workers…”, Mr. Nha said.
According to Mr. Nha, at the dialogue sessions, there were also many solutions to direct and create favorable conditions for businesses to operate production, find orders, and help workers have jobs and stable income.
“Thanks to that, Union activities in enterprises with a large number of employees like ours are very easy. Business owners are increasingly implementing policies, laws and regulations of the Union; paying attention and creating many conditions for us to operate. The relationship between the Union, enterprises and employees is always harmonious, stable and progressive,” said Mr. Nha.
Promote democratic spirit
According to the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor, every year, on the occasion of Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene, the Provincial Federation of Labor develops plans, selects content, and directs the grassroots-level Trade Unions to proactively advise the Party Committee to organize meetings and dialogues with the theme "May Dialogue".
The Provincial Federation of Labor advised the Provincial Party Committee to organize a dialogue conference with 150 union members and workers at enterprises with a large number of employees. On average, each dialogue received over 20 opinions and recommendations from workers. At that time, the provincial leaders directed the leaders of departments, branches, sectors, Party committees and local authorities to discuss and fully respond to the accurate, realistic, dedicated and responsible opinions of workers.
For issues that require more time to study, the Departments, branches, Party Committees and local authorities are also directed to continue to respond in writing to resolve difficulties and obstacles at the grassroots level. The Labor Federations of districts, towns and cities also coordinate with unions and advise Party Committees to organize dialogues between Party Committees and union members, association members and local workers.
In the past 2 years (2023, 2024), the Provincial Federation of Labor also coordinated with the National Assembly Delegation to organize 3 Conferences to Contact Voters on the topic "National Assembly Delegation with Trade Union Officials, Union Members, and Employees" before the National Assembly sessions. Thereby, 300 trade union officials, union members, and employees participated in over 50 comments on draft laws such as: Law on Social Insurance, Law on Trade Unions, Law on Employment, etc.
The leaders of the provincial National Assembly Delegation highly appreciated the conferences, saying that this is not only a channel to help National Assembly Deputies grasp the thoughts, aspirations, lives and work of Party members and workers, but also to promote the democratic spirit of voters in giving opinions on draft laws considered, commented on (or approved) by the National Assembly at National Assembly sessions.
Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen Huu Giang said that the dialogue between the Party Committee, the government and the union and workers is an activity that is highly appreciated by the Provincial Federation of Labor and has been maintained for nearly 10 years. Thanks to the organization of regular dialogues, difficulties and problems in building labor relations at enterprises have been resolved well and promptly, business owners have implemented good policies towards workers, not allowing "hot spots" to occur leading to strikes and work stoppages in the area.
