Relieving concerns about legal obstacles
Due to the busy nature of work at the factory, most workers have little opportunity to access new legal regulations, easily leading to confusion and unfamiliarity when their rights are affected. Recently, the program "Giving health and legal advice to workers - For a healthy Vietnam" in 2026 promptly removed this bottleneck. Here, a series of workers' problems regarding social insurance (SI), salaries, allowances, social housing policies and occupational safety and health were clarified by a team of lawyers from the Vietnam Bar Federation. All real situations, legal stories that have not had the opportunity to be expressed are dissected and analyzed in detail by experts in simple, easy-to-understand language. Thereby, equipping workers with a solid "legal shield" to protect their legitimate rights.
As one of the people whose problems were resolved, Mr. Le Van Trien (employee of Saigon Stec Co., Ltd.) shared that he wants to learn about procedures and how to calculate the unemployment insurance and one-time social insurance benefits. Immediately after presenting his personal situation, he was thoroughly explained in detail by the lawyers. "Participating in the program, we not only did not lose any expenses but also solved legal knowledge that we had not grasped for a long time" - Mr. Trien excitedly said.
Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (resident of Hoa Loi ward) entered the consulting room with anxiety about benefits when he was planning to quit his job. After only 30 minutes of discussion, his psychological pressure was completely relieved thanks to the enthusiastic and easy-to-understand guidance from the lawyers.
Mr. Hung confided: "I really hope this meaningful program will continue to spread widely so that many other workers can receive timely support.
Proposal to bring "legal shields" to factories
Directly advising workers at the program "Giving health and legal advice to workers - For a healthy Vietnam" in 2026, lawyer Tran Le An Nguyen (Vietnam Bar Federation) frankly pointed out a large gap: The majority of workers currently only stop at the basic understanding of common rights. When real disputes arise, they are prone to confusion due to the lack of regular counseling channels. To fundamentally solve this problem, the scope of counseling at the program has been maximized, from labor relations to daily civil transactions.
To make the model sustainably effective in depth, lawyer Nguyen proposed that this activity should be operated periodically every quarter. "I think it is necessary to bring mobile advisory groups of lawyers to be directly organized inside factories, industrial parks or export processing zones. This plan will create the most favorable conditions for workers to be ready to access the team of lawyers, thereby fully enjoying the welfare and social security policies of the State" - lawyer Nguyen emphasized.
The program "Giving health and legal advice to workers - For a healthy Vietnam" chaired by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, assigned to Lao Dong Newspaper, Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation in coordination with the Central Vietnam Young Physicians Association and Vietnam Bar Federation, has attracted more than 2,000 workers to participate.
This is a practical activity contributing to the good implementation of Directive No. 58-CT/TW dated January 10, 2026 of the Secretariat "On strengthening the Party's leadership over propaganda, political, ideological, and legal education for workers in the new situation" and implementing the resolutions of Trade Union Congresses at all levels as well as practically celebrating the success of the XIV Vietnam Trade Union Congress for the 2026 - 2031 term.
