Lao Cai - From recruitment information on loudspeakers to job transaction sessions, local authorities have become a bridge between businesses and workers.

Previously, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lieu's main job, in residential group No. 4, Nam Cuong ward, was farming. Income from fields was not high, so family life was just enough to cover expenses.

The opportunity to change jobs came to her when local officials conveyed recruitment notices through the loudspeaker system and government information channels.

Thanks to the government's guidance to complete the dossier, Ms. Lieu became a worker of Chien Thang Forest Product Trading and Processing Co., Ltd. (Dam Hong Industrial Park) with an income of about 9-12 million VND/month.

This is also the way many communes and wards in Lao Cai province are implementing to narrow the gap between workers and businesses.

Information about recruitment needs is integrated through village and residential group meetings, mass organization activities, grassroots broadcasting systems and social networks.

Local officials also review unemployed people, those who need to change jobs, and young people who have completed military service for advice and introduction.

In Yen Binh commune, Mr. Hoang Trong Vien, in Huong Giang village, is one of the workers who were consulted and introduced to jobs at Yen Binh Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company by commune officials.

The job of producing metal components brings him an income of over 10 million VND/month.

Besides working at the business, Mr. Vien also actively participates in vocational training classes in farming and animal husbandry.

For him, having an immediate income-generating job is important, but having more knowledge and skills to proactively manage long-term livelihoods is also equally necessary.

Ms. Le Huyen Minh - specialist of the Culture and Social Department of Yen Binh commune said that the commune currently has over 18,000 people of working age, of which about 16,000 people have jobs.

To support people, the Commune People's Committee directs specialized departments to coordinate with villages and socio-political organizations to regularly review the needs of unemployed workers, people in need of job transfer and young people completing military service.

On that basis, the locality strengthens recruitment information, consulting, career orientation, introducing suitable businesses and mobilizing people to participate in recruitment activities and job fairs.

In areas with many difficulties such as Phuc Loi commune, job connection is placed in the overall solutions to reduce poverty and increase income for people.

Mr. Hoang Van Toi - Vice Chairman of Phuc Loi Commune People's Committee said that in the coming time, the locality will continue to focus on vocational training for rural workers associated with market demand.

The commune also promotes propaganda on policies to support workers going to work abroad. At the same time, strengthen the connection between vocational education institutions and businesses.

According to Mr. Tran Trong Giap - Deputy Director of the General Internal Affairs Service Center - Department of Home Affairs of the province, from the beginning of the year to September 10, Lao Cai has provided job counseling for over 30,000 people, creating new jobs for over 23,200 workers.

Thanks to coordination at the grassroots level, job connection activities have achieved higher efficiency, helping businesses access labor sources, while creating more job opportunities for people.

The goal is to create jobs for 30,000 workers in 2026, thereby contributing to improving income, ensuring social security and creating more motivation for socio-economic development.
