To be able to pay social insurance when signing a contract for 1 month, employees have the opportunity to enjoy social security benefits

Employees working under an indefinite-term labor contract, with a term of 1 month or more, are subject to compulsory social insurance (SI).

The above regulation takes effect from July 1, helping workers have the opportunity to enjoy social security benefits.

At the age of 45, Ms. Nguyen Thi Cuc (Hung Yen) applied for a seasonal job at a garment company near her home. The advantages of the job are not too hard, no experience required, but the salary is limited and no compulsory social insurance payment is not required.

"Although my salary is less than 6 million VND, I am still willing to set aside 10.5% to pay social insurance," said Ms. Cuc.

When learning that the new regulation will require social insurance payment after working for a full month or more, Ms. Cuc could not hide her joy.

"The human resources department will only consider signing an official contract and paying social insurance after 2 months. I hope to participate in compulsory social insurance" - Ms. Cuc said.

The female worker shared that her current job is not too hard, just as hard for middle-aged workers like her. However, she is very afraid that the company will only recruit workers at the present time because there are many jobs, and when they are off work, it will give workers a day off.

If she is paid compulsory social insurance, Ms. Cuc said, it could be a bond with the company. At the same time, it also helps female workers feel more secure when they are sick as well as old.

"To work for a company, I just hope to pay social insurance. I'm not sure if I can do it long term or not, but it's been that year or that year. If I can pay social insurance in a short time, I will withdraw the regime at one time, and after a long time, I will receive a pension, and I will have some capital to support my children in my old age" - Ms. Cuc shared.

Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh - a ship welder in Ninh Binh said that he chose ship welder because of his high salary and easy retirement when he was busy. However, the disadvantage is that the company does not sign labor contracts and does not pay social insurance.

"I work as a ship welder but for the company. However, only managers and above are allowed to sign labor contracts and pay social insurance, said Mr. Chinh.

The reason for not signing the labor contract was revealed by Mr. Chinh to be seasonal work, many jobs for months, and few jobs for months. The business owner stated that the reason why workers are entitled to free leave is that few people stay with the company for a long time, thereby not signing labor contracts and paying social insurance to employees.

Having worked for a company and paid social insurance for nearly 4 years, Mr. Chinh clearly understands the benefits of retirement, illness, and unemployment benefits. The male worker hopes to pay social insurance to ensure his rights.

"Currently, I have to buy health insurance myself to prevent illness and unpaid personal leave. The new regulation helps me have the opportunity to participate in social insurance more easily when I only need to sign a labor contract to work for 1 month with the company in the near future" - Mr. Chinh said.

Sharing more, Mr. Chinh said that he has no intention of withdrawing social insurance at one time. After nearly 4 years of participating in compulsory social insurance, he will try to pay for at least another 5 years. After that, work more and then participate in voluntary social insurance until they are eligible for pension.
