Mr. Pham Ngoc Thai (Hanoi) - freelancer, originally working in image editing and design. However, as AI (artificial intelligence) is increasingly capable of performing these tasks well, he has proactively changed: taking advantage of AI to create photos and at the same time learning more video editing skills to increase competitiveness.
Using AI, I only take about 10 minutes to create a photo that is right for me, then edit a little more to create a unique impression before sending it to customers. The cost is cheaper and the work is processed faster," Mr. Thai shared.
According to him, AI currently only well meets simple products. For complex videos, requiring lively content, real people still need acting and complete builders. Therefore, he spent 2 months specializing in video editing skills to meet customer needs.
Mr. Thai's target customers are small brands and individuals who want to build their own image but do not have time to produce content. In addition to hiring, he also opens video editing skills classes for those in need.
Previously, each edited photo cost about 100,000 VND and took nearly 1 hour to complete. With videos, he needs about 2 hours to complete, earning from 200,000 - 300,000 VND/product.
5-session video editing courses bring him about 2 million VND/course. The total average monthly income is about 20 million VND, enough for him to maintain a stable life with the profession.

Not stopping there, Mr. Thai also combines many AI tools to create videos with unique effects, increasing attractiveness. According to him, this approach helps products differentiate themselves from simple videos created from AI, thereby making it easier to compete and being chosen by many brands.
I am always following the trends of communication tools as well as the development of AI to apply to work. In the future, I will learn more filming skills and social network algorithms to be able to provide full-package communication services for businesses," Mr. Thai said.
Meanwhile, Ms. Tran Thi Yen - a freelance content creator, went through a difficult period when AI developed strongly. Previously, with good writing skills, she could receive articles for 100,000 VND and always had many customers, even having to hire additional support.
Since AI exploded, my number of customers has decreased by 80%, and the price of each article has also decreased by nearly half," Ms. Yen shared.
To adapt, she decided not to avoid it but to take advantage of AI as a support tool, while upgrading personal skills.
If before I spent more than 1 hour writing a song for 100,000 VND, now I am willing to receive 30,000 VND/song because using AI only takes 5 minutes, then editing for about 10 minutes to complete," she said.
Besides, Ms. Yen focuses on jobs that AI is difficult to replace, such as writing in-depth video scripts. These contents require careful research on services, markets and customers, so even if it takes longer, it brings a corresponding income.
In addition to working, she also opens basic AI teaching classes for office administrators or newcomers who want to access this tool. According to her, the demand for learning AI at a basic level is quite large and easy to train, thereby helping her increase her income.
It can be seen that in the context of strong AI development, freelancers not only face challenges but also have great opportunities if they know how to adapt. Proactively learning, taking advantage of technology and improving skills is the key to helping them maintain and develop their careers.
