More than 2,700 union members and workers were visited and relaxed
During Workers' Month 2025, trade unions under the Vietnam Construction Trade Union (VTC) actively coordinated with the professional organization to launch campaigns and emulation campaigns associated with the task of production and business, in response to Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene.
Typically, Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation launched a peak emulation campaign to welcome the 9th Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030; VINACONEX Corporation launched an emulation movement in 2025 at Long Thanh International Airport Project; Song Da 5 Joint Stock Company launched an emulation campaign "140 days and nights to complete the plan and target for the first 6 months of 2025" at Nam Phak Hydropower Project (CHDCND Laos) ...
Based on actual conditions, trade unions at all levels in the industry have proposed to employers to organize the "Thank You to Employees" program in forms such as visiting, giving gifts, encouraging, paying attention to coordinating the settlement of policies and regimes for employees. On this occasion, the Vietnam Construction Trade Union encouraged and presented 1,120 gifts (each worth 1 million VND) to union members and workers in difficult circumstances in the industry.
The Vietnam Transport Trade Union Charity Fund has supported 13 groups and 718 workers in difficult circumstances with a total amount of 1.497 billion VND. According to the synthesis up to now, trade unions at all levels have coordinated with the professional organization to visit and give gifts to nearly 8,000 union members and workers in difficult circumstances with a total amount of more than 5 billion VND. Organized tours and vacations for more than 2,700 union members and employees with a total amount of nearly 5.3 billion VND.
During the Workers' Month 2025, the Trade Union of the Ministry of Construction (old) held a ceremony to award funding to support the repair of the Trade Union Shelter to union member Nguyen Huu Trung - an officer in especially difficult circumstances of the Construction Newspaper.
After his wife died of cancer in 2015, union member Nguyen Huu Trung raised two young children (grade 7 and 11) alone. Mr. Trung himself is in poor health and has low income. The father and son are currently living in a house built in 1999 that has seriously degraded, the walls are peeling, moldy, and unsafe during the rainy and stormy season.
Moved by the attention of trade unions at all levels, union member Nguyen Huu Trung expressed: My father and I are extremely grateful for the timely and affectionate support from the Trade Union of the Ministry of Construction. For the past 10 years, I have always received sharing and encouragement from the Trade Union organization. This gift has great significance, helping us feel more secure in life, especially when the rainy and stormy season is approaching. Mr. Trung also said that it is that concern that has motivated his children to strive to study and feel the companionship of the group where his father works.
Proactively dialogue and negotiate to improve the quality of shift meals for employees
On July 17, Mr. Pham Hoai Phuong - Chairman of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union (VTC) - said that from now until the end of 2025, VTC levels will continue to take workers as the center in all activities - decisions on support policies, launching emulation movements... must all come from practical needs and aspirations of workers.
Strengthen solutions to propagate and mobilize employees to join the Trade Union organization in conjunction with focusing on guiding, supporting, and innovating the content and methods to improve the quality of grassroots trade union activities. Special attention is paid to implementing activities "Pikes month for developing union members, establishing grassroots unions".
Well perform the role of employee representative in dialogue and collective bargaining, focusing on wages, bonuses, working hours, rest hours, and occupational safety and health. Actively and proactively dialogue and negotiate to improve the quality of workers' shift meals according to Conclusion No. 03/KL//BCH dated January 18, 2022 of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on continuing to implement Resolution No. 7c/NQ-BCH on "Quality of workers' shift meals" associated with ensuring food safety and hygiene in kitchens and collective dining rooms... Effectively implementing preventive solutions and participating in resolving labor disputes and collective work stoppages, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.
Continue to develop a plan to rearrange units that do not meet the conditions for independent operations; streamline the number of full-time staff in a streamlined and efficient manner. Training, fostering, and personnel arrangement are also focused on to meet the requirements of innovation and improve the capacity of trade union cadres in the period of organizational transformation under the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
