On June 7, in Bac Ninh, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology opened a training course on artificial intelligence (AI) application skills for union members and workers within the framework of the launching ceremony of the emulation movement "Good labor, high productivity, good income" for the period 2026 - 2031.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Duc Long - Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Chairman of the Vietnam Science and Technology Union, said that AI is becoming a new driving force, strongly impacting the production process, labor organization methods and competitiveness of enterprises.
According to statistics, online training courses on AI for union members and workers have received great attention. To date, over 79,600 people have registered to participate out of a total of 82,400 targets, of which nearly 62,000 people have completed the training program.
Leaders of the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union said that in the context of strong digital transformation, improving digital skills and AI application capacity is becoming an urgent requirement for workers. The Trade Union organization has also shifted from protecting current jobs to protecting long-term competitiveness for union members and workers.
According to Mr. Pham Duc Long, the rapid development of AI both poses challenges regarding the risk of skills lag, and opens up opportunities to improve labor productivity, create more jobs, increase income and promote the development of the digital economy.
The AI application skills training course not only helps workers access new technologies but also contributes to forming digital thinking, innovative thinking and adaptability to modern working environments.
Leaders of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology called on trade union officials, union members and workers to actively respond to the emulation movement, proactively study, improve their qualifications, master technology and AI, contributing to building high-quality digital human resources, meeting the requirements of rapid and sustainable development of the country.
