On the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (CYU) (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2026), the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) organized a meeting to congratulate union members, union officials and former cadres of the Ho Chi Minh CYU through various periods.
Attending were Comrade Ngo Duy Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Comrade Huynh Thanh Xuan, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Comrade Vu Anh Duc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour... and comrades in the Standing Committee, Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; youth union officials at affiliated youth union branches; and all union members and youth working at departments and units directly under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.
According to Comrade Phan Nghiem Long, Secretary of the Youth Union of the VGCL, the Youth Union of the VGCL currently has 6 directly affiliated branches with 198 union members; union members who are Party members account for 40%. All union members have firm political bravery, enthusiastic dedication and the aspiration to rise up of youth.
Sharing at the meeting, Comrade Ho Thi Kim Ngan, Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department (Vietnam General Confederation of Labour), former Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, said that in order for union activities to be practical and attract a large number of union members to participate, activities need to pay attention to the specific characteristics of the bloc and advisory board. Because union members are dispersed, it is difficult to convene enough for general activities, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Youth Union needs to proactively listen to the thoughts of union members in the blocs to have common activities to connect and create common strength of the union organization.
The Youth Union of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour should also develop a plan from the beginning of the year, propose charity activities, visit workers and union members in poor communes; organize blood donation programs, give gifts, plant trees; organize sports and cultural tournaments to connect directly affiliated youth union branches," said Comrade Ho Thi Kim Ngan.
Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Secretary of the Youth Union of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Guest House said that with the attention of the leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, the leaders of the guest house, youth, and union members of the Youth Union of the Guest House always complete their professional tasks well.
In the coming time, union members wish to have more opportunities to exchange and learn from union members of directly affiliated branches through specific and practical programs such as sports tournaments, volunteer programs...
Comrade Le Thi Minh Trang, Secretary of the Youth Union Branch of Vietnam Trade Union Printing Joint Stock Company, shared that in the context of strong digital transformation, young people and young workers hope that the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and the company's leaders will create conditions for young union members to study and participate in digital transformation training classes suitable for their field of work...
Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Ngo Duy Hieu said that this is an opportunity to look back at the development journey, acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of generations of youth union officials and youth union members; and at the same time continue to arouse the spirit of responsibility, enthusiasm and aspiration to contribute of youth union members and youth in the current period.
Comrade Ngo Duy Hieu hopes that youth and union members will realize the benefits of participating in union activities, which will help each person become more confident and sharper. Union members and youth need to improve their awareness, style, and working methods. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour is a socio-political organization, and union members and youth must be aware of updating political and social knowledge.
With Youth Union officials, Comrade Ngo Duy Hieu requested "comrades must be truly sharp but extremely humble".
