On October 16, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union organized the Gala "Youth Live Beautifully" in 2024.
This is an opportunity to honor outstanding young people who have noble and humane deeds and deeds, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, mutual love, and sharing difficulties with the community and society; to commend exemplary young people who obey the law, live a cultured and loyal life, and are role models and motivations for young people and the community to learn from and follow.
After 3 months of implementation, the Organizing Committee met and selected 20 outstanding young people to receive the award.
Individuals were awarded in the fields of study and scientific research; in the fields of national defense, security, ensuring safety and social order; in the fields of production and business; in cultural - artistic, physical education and sports activities; in volunteer work and for community life.
Among the 20 outstanding young people receiving awards this year, there is a brave individual who sacrificed himself to save people like Hoang Anh Tuan (Nam Dinh province) in the fire in Trung Kinh (Cau Giay, Hanoi) in May 2024.
Or like Mr. Ma Seo Chu (Head of Kho Vang village, Coc Lau commune, Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province) made a life-and-death decision to bring 115 people to safety when he realized that the residential area where he lived was at risk of landslides and flash floods.
The 2022 Vietnam Silver Ball Nguyen Tien Linh was also honored on this occasion. The player of Becamex Binh Duong club has organized and launched volunteer and social security activities; proactively sought out and supported volunteer groups and people in difficult circumstances.
With the results achieved through social security activities, Tien Linh was elected as Volunteer Ambassador of Binh Duong province.
Another typical case is Vu Thi Hai Anh, a student at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Network of Blind Students. The female student has strived to overcome adversity, strived in her studies and volunteer activities, and is an inspiring example for students and the disabled community.
At the gala, Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Kim Quy emphasized that the 20 young people honored today are proof that the young generation of Vietnam not only has knowledge but also courage, bravery, pioneering spirit and humanity.
"Living beautifully is not only living a useful life for yourself but also living for the community. You are ambassadors of kindness, spreading the spirit of sharing and helping each other. Those actions have contributed to creating a more humane and connected society, while building a strong, united and prosperous Vietnam," said Mr. Quy.
